Default Where to dump used motor oil around Norwalk, CT?

I recently moved up from NY and in NY you could dump the oil at ANY place that sells it - by law. Here in CT, there is no law and I can't find a single place in my general area where I can dump my used motor oil. Anybody have any tips?

Even the parts stores don't take it? I always thought that the AutoZones and Pepboys type of places would take it... Not sure what places you've tried though. And I don't live in CT.

I tried the local gas stations and the parts stores. The parts stores won't take it and nor will the gas stations (even the gas stations with the mechanic shops). Last time I was able to dump the oil at one of those gas stations but the mechanic was a jerk and charged me $10 to do it. I had no other option, so I did that, but I don't plan on doing it again!

Go to Autozone or Pep Boys or Advanced Auto. Autozone I know for sure takes used oil. I always dump mine there for free.

Most town dumps have a waste oil tank. I've dumped it there before, the hours sometimes suck though.

Your probably going to have to keep in in your garage until spring time or whenever the next hazardous waste collection day is.

Did you try calling town hall? The local dump won't take it?
