I've seen pics of that headliner before! love it. Seeing as cash is tight (what else is new) that might be a good mod for me. would go good with the moons, huh? would want to inspect it first before commitiing though. I get cold feet very easily, especially when getting rid of stock stuff. would you help with the swap installs?

sure beats the hell out of the Cube's headliner. pretentious overplayed theme throughout that car. but I'm bitter. Or jealous. don't know which yet. lol

did you paint or cover the pillars? looks like they're upholstered too but can't tell.

As a side note just to hear myself talk... my car's officially out of warranty this week. I think it's time to install my Fujita CAI that has been sitting around forever! too bad the strut bar has to go unless I chop down the height of the CAI. Why do fujitas have to be sooooo tall?

Also... an xA and xB moved into C block of my apartments last week... They saw us at that first giant Denny's meet 2 years ago and stopped to see what was going on. I was too busy talking to them to talk to lowdown that day. sorry again about that.

Did you just cover an existing headliner and reinstall? So where are you hiding your xB while it's under construction? Will you be around this weekend any? I think Sunday is my only open day but I have to double check.

I don't think I have the patience to paint the pillars. I'd have to see how horrible it would be with the light grey because I doubt I can match the fabric.

How much have you documented your custom work? That would be fun to see.

No way eddie! Red???? where's that emoticon for :puke:? jp If I had just a few more grand in the bank I would've caved and bought this Thing a few weeks ago... http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifie....php?id=746630 . One more year of xB payments, then I can think about fun stuff. Hopefully. But "expectations lead to disappointment, that's why I try not to have any."

sorry i didn't have time to take a look before I took off yesterday. I think I'm getting excited by the idea! So many questions. Did it rattle or flop any? How difficult is it to get those pillar covers off? How did you attach the new fabric and flame forms? What's your plan for your next one? see... lots of questions! :D

Is there a good time during the week to stop by and chat and check it out? I work 8-5ish but can take a weird lunch break if that's easier.

Well the CAI didn't go on so good and I decided to let some pros do it. Maybe Mugsy's if they do that sort of thing. Any recomendations? there was interference with the battery and it wouldn't stay out of the way. I was afraid it would jiggle back to where it would rub the pipe. the brackets were too thick for us to bend to make it fit better. oh well.

The rear wiper came off nicely (of course) and I put a chrome plug in untill I get a painted one. The black plug looked like a mole. haha. the chrome one almost matches my moon discs. It's been so long since I did anything to my car it was nice to even do something so simple.

its cool, whenever you get a chance. why would it rattle? pillars arent to bad, they just pop off and you just need to unbolt the seatbelts to get the b and c pillars off, no biggie. wuper strength adhesive works miracles, the flames were my own doing, it was a pain because i never drew flames that big before but it turned out really nice. the new headliner is a secret....for now. oh, im usually here so whenever you get a chance, ill prob be here till 7 tonight
