Sorry been busy. If we can get a bunch of scion owners together, like 20 plus, I will call scion and see if they will support us and pay for some or all for the activity. I need some ideas that EVERYONE would like to do.

Ideas:
1 - wet tshirt contest
2 - some type of scavenger hunt
3 - scion dyno event w/ pizza and sodas and music and a show during the fun (3 places, each car model has its own class).
4 - the go karts man! the go karts!
5 - cruise through the ghetto (york city whoop whoop!)

if we go with option 5, i want a scion bulletproof vest yo! (just kidding....lol)



some combination of 1,2,3 and 5 could be cool, or maybe 2,3 and 5

 

I love the gocart Idea but there is not a track in York. I can't do it in Hanover or surrounding areas and have Scions support and help. maybe a hangout, then a movie, and then a cruise maybe. If this is successful we might be able to do some more things then.

It is NOT an actual show (ie- no trophies), but it is an event meant to show off your car. I know the Scion salesman that is putting this deal together and I told him that I might be able to get a few friends with awesomely modded Scions to come to this event to get some of the "stock" ppl interested in modding their cars. So please, please, PLEASE consider coming out to this event. I would very much appreciate gauging interest in Scions here in the Poconos. Event details below:

^oooh 2.5 hours away and on a thursday. It sounds great, but it's just a little bit too far for me on a thursday.

However, this does bring up a good point for yorkscion to consider... Sometimes you just have to plan an event and hope people will go for it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It doesn't even have to be that fancy. Amy got 20 of us together at Denny's once by organizing her club and just setting a date. It was just a gtg, no music, no free food but a great turnout. Same with Shady Maple. But Fitzgerald Scion had trophies, music, food, tons of scion swag and only 4 or 5 scions showed up (it was during the day on thursday and it was 104 degrees). I guess it's all about advertising, timing and networking!

Despite that rant, I guess I should make some suggestions for events... but I've got nothing. I'm always a fan of just hanging out, movies, food and a cruise like you suggested. Maybe bowling. haha. I've only done that twice and I was terrible but it was fun.

 

Who can argue with those awesome shoes lol

 

I would be down for some "free" bowling!!! LOL but not on a weekday and not for something that is a long drive. I would support the cause but anything more than 2hr drive is not worth it, especially on a weekday.

I had a blast last time we went to Shady Maple!!!!! Buffet FTMFW!!!!!!!!

 

i think a lot of times i have more fun at get-togethers than shows. no free anything, no set time limit or location, spare of the moment cruises, and just good friends hanging out and having a good time.

ps - there is a new Shady Maple meet thread up if anyone is interested. sat, sept 29. :D

 

yea I'll most likely be there along with other members.. we all had a blast last time just hanging out with everyone.. it was something diff hanging out in Amish/ Mennonite county lol I've already started passing the word along for that one!!
