Wa wa what??? I just got my 'step' statement from my insurance company a couple weeks ago.

yea my insurance told me they changed it to a new system where theres no steps but like points...

idk i know the worst is like 45 or somethin and 1 is awesome but the best is 99 or somethin stupid like that.. im an 8 i think :/

Steps...points, whatever. They're still screwin' us. It's now the SDIP (Safe Driver Insurance Plan) and per the letter I got:

This policy will receive an SDIP premium increase (surcharge) for each operator with points from 01 through 45, or a premium decrease (credit) for each operator with the Excellent Driver Discount Credit Code (98 ) or the Excellent Driver Discount Plus Credit Code (99).

There's a whole lot more about how points are added or subtracted, incident free periods, yada,yada, yada.
I'm a 98 (excellent driver - yeah baby!), but my wife is a 04 and my son a 00. Ironic that I drive the tC and a 175 mph capable Ninja ZX11, and she drives a Caravan - but she has the points and the surcharge. Better her than me! (even though I pay for it all anyway )
