Default MA Tint Laws - outside rear views mirrors??

So I live in Boston and wanna tint my windows. I know the law is that you can tint your side windows to 35%, but the RMV site says that if you tint the back window, you need two outside rear view mirrors.

Gross. does that mean i gotta get those side mirrors with those little circle mirrors on them? Or like two angles or something?

Here is the link: http://www.mass.gov/rmv/faq/inspection.htm#15
Excerpt:
"What are the specifications for aftermarket window tinting?
For most vehicles, aftermarket tinting that registers at least 35% on a tint meter on side windows immediately adjacent to the driver and front passenger seats, and side windows immediately to the rear of the operator and passenger, is acceptable. The rear window may be tinted to the 35% level, but the vehicle must be equipped with two outside rear view mirrors. The windshield may only be tinted down to the AS-1 line, which is usually located in the uppermost (6) inches of the windshield."

What do the rest of you do? Just tint the 4 side windows? And should I tint it at 40% for a margin of error if i ever get pulled over and tested? Anyone have pics of 40% or close tint? On a BRM too maybe? haha thanks!

Two outside rearview mirrors means 1 on both sides. Some older cars only have a driver side 1. In driving school back in the day the instructor told us if we wanted we could spray paint the back window. Lol. If you think about it, there are many trucks and vans where there is no rearward visibility whatsoever.

As far as tinting level, 35% is the darkest legal in the state. If you have a shop use the 35% tint you will be illegal. Stock windows already have a slight UV tint. 35% tint on top of that would give you a reading closer to 30%. Go with a 40% to 45% and you should be fine.
