Okay, so Im installing DC race headers in my friends 08 tc tomorrow, and I have a couple questions. All he has in the car is a K&N short ram, and a DC axle back. Im going to be installing the header and I want to know if there will be any sound difference with a stock S pipe and midpipe? Will there be any difference in the sound? Also he likes rasp for some ungodly reason so will there be rasp with this setup???

 

Yes, it will be louder, and raspy because that is usually the net result of any axle back exhaust combined with any aftermarket header.

The big change in noise comes from the complete removal of the OEM primary catalytic converter. and without some kind of anti-fouler, you will also get a CEL for not having a cat on the car.

 

Alright thanks man. For what ever reason this kid likes rasp from what hes heard. ____in fart cannons. Anyway, if I reset the ECU and do the anti-fouler i should be good for the CEL right?

call me a dummy but i am new to headers and all... So if i were to install headers what else would i need? right now i have a spectre SRI and TRD exhaust. any advice would help thanks in advance!
