Ooops, edit *hatch*. Sorry about that, but I do hope you get that taken care of soon. I know from (twice rear ended in my xB) experience how you feel and if you are local, there's a body shop in Milpitas that did a kick @$$ job on my box.

goes in the body shop monday, almost $2000 dollars damage. New hatch, bumper, latch, labor and paint, and thats it so far! We will see what else they say when the body shop looks at it. Hopefully theres no hidden damage.

I know exactly how you feel. I got rearended a month ago by a stupid suv, sucked
because it missed the bumper and hit my hatch also because they were so much higher.
Took about a week to get mine back. Good luck and make sure they check absolutely
everything!

no, im just gonna replace it back with a steal hatch, insurance wont cover a modded part. would rather save the extra money it would cost for some rims later on.

On a side note , there is that grip tape on the bumber, wondering if I should have them leave that off, not sure though?

Probably didn't help that your box is lowered!

Mike's Auto Body does great work....at least the one in Concord does! I used to take my 4-Runner there and they always went above what they could have done!

yeah I got it back just haven't had time to post cuz of work, everything looks great.
The latch was bent internally and they tried to fix it and got it to work but it would make a clicking noise when you pushed the button, so they ordered a new one and put it in. Its working perfect now. I even had them leave off that grip tape bumper cover, Im glad they did, it looks so much better without it on there. Here is a pic of it finished.
