Default 2007 Monterey Historic Car Races (Aug 17-19)

I just received this e-mail. YAY!!!!!

The few who made it last year can share how much fun it was. I believe this year is a tribute to early American Indy cars. And I'm sure Toyota will have a few suprises in store. (F1 again?)

Dear Car Clubs,

We are excited to announce the dates for the 2007 Monterey Historic Races are August 17-19, 2007! Toyota is again the presenting sponsor and the company is working to anhance the activities enjoyed in lasy year’s event. We want you to all be involved again this year! Save the dates and spread the word to your friends and other car enthusiasts.

Some of the activities being planned for this year’s event include: discounted tickets, a VIP trackside seating, and an improved location for the car club corral area. If we can help you recruit more people from your club, please let us know how we can help. We really value and appreciate your feedback.

We will stay in touch with you this spring and summer as we get ready for the event and keep you up-to-date as new car club activities are finalized or approved.

Sincerely,

John Kendall

MOTEL RESERVATIONS NOW!!!!

I'm not kidding. They're probably already booked up.

Another cool thing to do would be to roll in as a group to the Concours @ Pebble Beach on Sunday. But it's soooo expensive.

I'm submitting my vacation request today for the week.

Lets see, Yosemite Monday, Tuesday. Santa Cruz Wednesday, Thursday. Monterey Friday-Sunday.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$

I'd like to go but I'll need a place to crash. Also, I refuse to pay $5 for a tiny little bottled water.

^ bring your own water if you do not want to pay that much... i was at just about every race last year and that race was not nearly as hot as moto gp weekend... people were falling over because of the heat durring gp. your own water or even a 5 dollar bottle is cheaper then a ride to hospital

We had free water from Toyota.

And since we were parked soooo close to the track, you could bring an ice chest with lunch.

This "older peep" loves the noise of vintage racecars. It's music to my ears.

The sound of the Toyota F1 was awesome.

One year they had a Mazda GT car there and they fired it up. 3 rotor rotary engine with straight pipes. It hurt soo much! But when they shut it off, the crowd that gathered burst into applause.

Now I sure could of used a set when Mars Volta played at the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert I went to!
