Default Accident Resolution

Quick background:

12/15 my neighbor hits my parked tC. She's pretty reckless when leaving her driveway so it doesn't surprise me that she hit someone. Broke the mirror off and dented the door. She of course would prefer me not to go through my insurance which may be possible.

What I need to know:

Can anyone recommend a good bodyshop near the 94025 zip code?
Do the dealerships use reliable repair facilties?
As this is my first accident, can those more knowledgeable offer any words of wisdom that would help me out?

Thanks again

-mrb

Go through your insurance!! that way if the body shop makes a mistake you can let the ins company deal with it.

actually I'll keep to the word of the body shop route. Make sure there is a written contract of some sort making sure of the quality of the work. My friend even had insurance company do the work and he didn't get everything fixed. Insurance companies always have a way around things to pay less as they possiblely can. (they are just lawyers).

dont go thru insurance. Its collision, not comprehensive so your insurance will go up. On a fast sidenote...i beg to differ when people say insurance companies are bad. I had my rims/tires stolen. Within a week they had a check for the full price ( because they were 7 weeks old ) , including alignment, re-mount and balance. In fact I bought them online and paid no sales tax. But in my final check it included tax for it all so I ended up gaining $120ish which I call my "pain and suffering" compensation.

Your vehicle was parked, you were not in control of the vehicle, so your insurance should not go up at all.

You probably want to call your insurance company or check your contract. Most insurance companies work on a at-fault percentage system. The accident is only rateable if you are 50% or more at fault.
