Bull**it traffic ticket!
So i got pulled over for my tint up front, realize that is illegal.
Get this though, the cop gives me a ticket for not having an orange reflector on the front bumper....... I was like what, I have not changed the bumper..that is stock. He goes on to explain how every car in california has a reflector on the front. Come on now.

..... wow.... well the amber reflector that he's referring to is in your headlight....
if you cleared it out, then yeah, he has the right concept.. but completely stupid about it..
hmm... i'd fight the ticket, if not find someone to help you out with it... tint, yea.. you got caught... but reflector ON the bumper? uhmm.... no..

but is there a reflector? doesn't matter about the bulb color...
that could be amber or white for turns... but amber reflector... you still need..
like i said... he probably still got you for the reflector.. was just completely wrong about it being on the bumper though..

Notice the requirements for reflectors.

Also,
Search ScionLife for many, many pages of discussion of the laws on this...

This does bring up another question. I've noticed that our cars don't meet the side reflector requirement. We have a red reflector rear (taillight), red side (side marker), amber front and front side (headlight visible from front and side), but we do not have the midpoint reflector. The front side marker is not an amber reflector.

Only vehicles of certain lengths require midpoint reflectors. The fender mounted turn signal is just that. . . a turn signal and not a reflector.
