Default Did anyone not have fun at HIN?

I keep hearing everone telling me how much fun HIN was. I must have missed every cool thing that happened. Personally i thought it was just a waste of time and money. Maybe it was because my friends that were supposed to go with me backed out so i ended going with just me and my gf since i had already bought my ticket. Maybe it was because i never got to meet up with my friends that were there. Maybe its because almost all the vendors there were just model companys selling pictures of models. Maybe it was besause the spoon drivers wouldnt talk to me. Maybe its cause i was hot in the crowded buildings. Maybe its because i bought my ticket in advance to stil have to wait in line an hour. Maybe its because ive been to Nopi Nationals and this was my first HIN and i thought NN was way better. Maybe it had alot to do with my gf complaining the whole time. Maybe im just retarded.

i had a good time over here in Phoenix back in October until one of the drives in the drifting exhibition HIT MY CAR with his headlight housing that he THREW OVER THE FENCE to the crowd but over shot the crowd.

Still haven't recieved any money for damages, just sent an email today to owner of HIN to see if they can help me out.

If you go anywhere with a whining gf in two you will most likely not have a good time. I don't think anybody appreciated pre-paying and then waiting an hour to get in. That was just ridiculous! Sure I felt a bit safer inside but if anybody really wanted to bring gear in they would manage somehow.

ehhh.. some of the rent-a-cops were more being arrogant and ****** because they probably were just ____y about not being armed, a ton of people to deal with, and/or other stress...

so eventually you'll come to a point where some don't care anymore.

*shrugs*.. i dunno.... few i talked to were cool.. seemed there were two types... security that usually works the venue (and they were cool).. and the types that were hired more to be there (which they weren't)

I'm kinda with you i did not feel very comfortable. i went by myself because my friends flaked on me also. i tried to talk to some people, but they just seemed kind of like they did not want to talk. I just went for the cars, and that was well worth $15 not $30. LOL!! Well have fun and i think i might go again, but maybe you had the right idea about the brass knucks!! Still had fun and the cars were cool!!

hahah forsure, thanks mikee! haha

aye u guys check this out.....this guy didnt have fun either, please support him!

As many of you already know, Nick from Lethal Injection was subject to blatant police harassment at the HIN last Friday!

Nick from Lethal Injection brought his highly modified car to HIN last Friday for the first time. His car was hitched. The San Mateo police force were waiting and collecting all the show cars and their owners’ information during the roll-in.

The San Mateo police checked Nick’s car and found that his car was missing a VIN due to multiple modifications. Immediately, the police determined that this was a “suspect of stolen car”. Although Nick had a car registration and insurance to show, the police still threatened him that they would take all the parts out until they found the VIN and that they would crush his car if they don’t find the VIN. Nick explained to them the car was in shop for a year and half for many revisions, but the police took the car away.

Nick had no idea for an extended period of time what was happening with his car.

On Monday, he received a phone call from the same officer asking him how to start his car. Nick told him how.

In the meantime, Nick has sent his pink slip and a letter from the shop that the car belonged to Nick, as well as the carfax information stating that the car was not in major accidents. He called the police department to talk to the officer on Monday. He was told that the officer was off duty on Monday. It’s the same day that he got a call from the officer asking how to start his car.

Now the police informed him that he would take this to DA to see they could charge him with a misdemeanor for having a car with no VIN!!

This is WRONG! This is too CRAZY!!

This harassment has to be stopped. We as RIDE family have to show that we the import car enthusiasts will not be bullied and threatened by police profiling. Show your support. Call your friends and share this crazy news with other fellow import car lovers. Post it on your Websites and myspace pages.

Call your City Council person and complain. You don’t know the number; call me I will find it for you. Write a letter of support or email for Nick and Project RIDE and send that to me. We will unite to stop this!

I will keep you posted with any progress. Meanwhile, Project RIDE is sending a letter of formal complaint to District Attorney Office of San Mateo. We are also looking for a legal aid from other nonprofit agencies. We will fight this injustice TOGETHER!

It's always nice to meet someone from out of town who's so enthused about the clam chowder in a breadbowl.

:D

Can't wait for dungenuess crab season to start up. Much easier to deal with than maryland blue crab
