Lets all do something good for the comunity....MS Walk 4/22
Ok, so my wonderful girlfriend wanted to do something in support of her grandmother who passed from this, and her mother who still lives with it by doing this walk. She also thought and I agreed that it would be a great idea to get our group out there to do it too. It would be great exposure for the Scion community as a whole and it never hurts to give back to the community and do a good thing.
The walk is on April 22nd here in the Silicon Valley , though there is an option to do the walk in Monterey on the 23rd. The walk starts and ends at Los Gatos High School and there will be breakfast AND lunch provided!
( So any of you motivated by food here is your reason to do it.... Ed.)
We've registered and formed a team: Scion Evolution (only because I couldn't think of what else to call it at the time) Evil Dave is going to register as well and thinks this is a great idea for us to show our support in large numbers for something. I know it's kind of short notice since we tend to plan things farther in advance but she didn't find out about it until this weekend.
We will post more information soon about being able to register with us under our team. Or you can go online and register at: http://www.nationalmssociety.org I am the team captain, last name is Sorensen for those who don't know how to spell it. I know not everyone is part of SE, but that really isn't the point so if you want to register and form your own team then GREAT! Just let us know so we can all meet up there at the same time.
We look forward to getting a big group together to do this.

Awww come on people... I was hoping to see more interest. But never fear... I realize that posting something with a month's notice can be difficult for people. Especially with all the meets coming up. I hope to see some of you out there!! For anyone who might have been worried about the distance of the walk, this route has 3K, 5K and 10K options. So don't feel like you have to walk to whole 10.
Hey Tim,
I think the issue is the time commitment. Everyone is busy with various things (myself, I am helping out with a new Niece & Nephew my sister just had) so freeing up a Saturday or Sunday may not be the easiest thing to do.
Why not post a link or start a team where donations can be made. I can't always make it out to events, but Paypal is a click away.

Well Darrell and I were going to go, but after our 2 mile walk on Saturday to the store, I was in pain. I thought I would be fine, but my back and hip started hurting which is due to the accident cuz I could normally walk around without any pain. Sorry, but I am going to have to see your "doc" Quinn (still waiting for you to PM your new cell number).
Guess we will just make a donation.

question, I went to the site on the link that was provided, but all I found for the MS Walk 2006 was 4/22 Alameda fairgrounds and 4/23 in Sac. on the events calander. Am I in the wrong spot? :? :?
Sorry, we put the wrong link up. Here you go...

I"m sorry to say this, but due to lack of involvement and interest from anyone other then those that have posted. I am cancealing this even. You are still welcome to go, but the Team I created is no longer involved.
Ok there was more to it than that.... but needless to say we couldn't garner up enough support or pledges in the short time we created for ourselves to do this event. I'm going to be watching their site to see when the next one is going to be, and make better plans in advance. So anyone who said they'd come out and watch can now sleep in on Saturday. :D
