Wheeltechniques in Santa Clara does rim powder coating. I don't remember their website right now. They mostly work on repairing rims but they do the whole "clean, sand, polish, wetsand, and paint" thing.

I dunno how much they charge for powdercoating.

One thing I should warn you about, I did a shop class a while back in college and powdercoated steel... Although the powdercoat looks really good, it changes the "feel" of the outer appearance significantly. It's really kind of wierd to me.

I would like to get my rims either color matched FM or colored Black. I do hope they can get a glossy finish.

I had my intake powdercoated and it has a nice smooth polished finish. They even put glitter in it and you can't feel a thing.

They can do glossy, here are some pics of my Gloss Black Wheels, also I've got a Candy Red strut bar and engine cover. I love powdercoating, I plan on getting more

^^nice! thats exactly what i want.

i got an email back from star spray in santa clara. heres what they said..

Here are the prices....

Paint only on 4 wheels, gloss black $60.00 ea.
Sandblast and paint 4 wheels, gloss black $85.00 ea.

Paint only on 4 wheels, gloss black and silver $120.00 ea.
(*includes masking but not clear coating)
Paint only on 4 wheels if you leave a chrome lip, gloss black $100 ea.

Sandblasting rims is an additional $25.00 per wheel with no masking.

*Most silver powder coating does not handle exterior use well without clear coat. I don't really recommend using the silver, then clear coating if you are going to do the black too. It adds too much expense and you will most likely not have a smooth transition between the black and silver.

Hope that helps.

I paid $200 for the wheels (all 4), and that included all the prep work. $100 for the Strut bar and Engine Cover.

Now I know I am reviving a very old thread, but I didnt want to start a new one.

I am looking to powder coat some under-hood parts, nothing too big, but just want to get some feedback of places local to me (within a 1 hour drive max) to get the parts powdercoated.

Sweet, any idea of cost? Livermore would be so convenient (being that I am in Pleasanton
