I called around and the cheapest quote that I got was $650 for the labor. Anyone around my area got their Supercharger installed for less than that? The dealership that got me that quote was Hanlees Scion. Elk Grove Scion is charging me $900 for the install.

Hanlees Scion also told me that if I do not get the Supercharger from them, they will not install it for me because it would void the warranty? I think he is bull____ting me. That didn't make sense to me, but I didn't want to argue with him. I told them that I would be getting the TRD Supercharger online and I just need them to install it for me. He then goes and says that they will not install it and that I would have to pay somebody else to do the install and it would void my warranty of the Supercharger. He forwarded me to the parts department and they said something else. They said that if it is the TRD Supercharger then they will install it for the same price of $650 and it would maintain it's warranty. I'm getting confused.

But to those who are Supercharged, where did you get your Supercharger installed and how much was it? Becuase I need to get mine installed in September. Thanks ya'll.

 

I highly recommend you get it installed at Stevens Creek Scion by Dave. If you want local to you talk to igod and see how much it is at Maita (at least they've installed one on igod's tC before).

 

Yeah I know about Damon...I bought the car from him. He won't be able to do anything about the install price. It is $850/$900 for installation.

 

ask dave. dont go for cheap. dave is the person you wanna go to. why you might ask. easy. when people in this area have a problem with their supercharger, they (as in TRD USA) calls dave and ask him to troubleshoot it. now thats who i want working on my car. for warrantee to work you must get it installed at a dealer, but purchasing... im not sure about.

ask for me...if it's pretty cheap...I may have to come down there for Dave to install my Supercharger...and while he's at that...you can do your work on my gauges as well...then we can all go out to a meet and drink.

 

dave and i were talking about that... youre going to probably need to drop it off and pick it up a couple days later...

trung you cant say waht price dave can give. its whatever they have set it at because if you dont pay that price to get it installed then you cant have the warrantee... and you want that warrantee.

tong its up to you where you want it installed. personally i wouuld only trust dave with my car becuase i know his credentials.... but thats just me.

 

My 2 cents on this topic: A: You've saved up to get the supercharger, congratulations as that is no small feat. Now that you have the money for the part, if you want your car treated right by a pro, who will NOT screw you over go with Dave. B: As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. And if you've managed to scrape together next to full price for the damn supercharger and you're trying to cheat yourself and your car on nickel and diming the install? You're nuts.

It's well worth whatever Dave at Stevens Creek charges for the install. Why? Because it will be done right the first time, and as Jon said you will have the value of the warranty. (Come on people it's "warranty" LOL)

Don't whine, just do it. You'll be happier about it later. And if you really want to know how much it is to install via Dave in San Jose, then CALL HIM. 411: I'd like the number for Stevens Creek Scion in San Jose.

well said quinn... trying to say it nicer but yeah. dont cheap out... i did on some less expensive stuff and well it messed up and i needed to pay more in the end. do yourself a favor. go to who you know will do it right. and thats dave. god im lucky i live so close! lol

 

I'm sorry I didn't mean for that to come out as rude as it sounded, I just have a hard time listening to people trying to get the cheapest install rates around, when in the end every one of them has had a problem. I'm just looking out for you and your car, and trying to save you time/money and sanity in the long run.

Wow! Is Dave really that good?!? Too bad he's in San Jose. And dropping my car off for a couple days in San Jose is gonna cost me more money because I would have to get a hotel for at least 3 days. I don't have any relatives there to stay with. Unless I can camp outside of Steven's Creek for 3 days, it'll be difficult for me.

So it is true what the person on the phone said. If you don't buy the Supercharger from them at their price, you will not get a warranty on it. I guess if this is true, I'll have to scratch off Sparks from the plan.

 

no no TRD sparks is a toyota dealership. its if you dont get it installed at the dealership then the warrantee is voided. you can order it anywhere. you might as well get it from a licensed dealer... such TRD sparks. because thre a dealership.

and yes. dave is really that good. maybe trung will let you crash at his place...? haha iono. ill be off to college sorry!

 

I'll just have to add on to this thread. I am a firm beliver that if you want it done right and w/warranty. You should go to a place that has experience with installing the supercharger. I wouldn't want some billy bob mechanic learning on my car. With that said I would recommend Dave @ Stevens Creek he has had experience with them.

 

So how much is Dave charging for the installation of the SC?
