So I am on vacation in NY with my family and today I got probably one of the worst phone calls of my life. This afternoon, an arson investigator in SJ called me and my family and told us some bad news. Apparently, our xB caught fire in the drive way of our house in the middle of the night and half of the car is totally burned up and destroyed. From what I heard, everything from the front of the car to the front of the interior is totally destoryed. Including my semi-new bBist carbon fiber hood, NEW Sportmax 501's, Varad underbody and interior lighting, halo headlights, a Sony flip-down screen, and more. A witness told the police that he saw 2 men running away from the fire with a jug but he couldn't catch up with them. How could someone do something like this? We have no idea who did this or have any suspicion of who would even think of doing a thing like this. They took away my love, my passion, my family's xB.

 

well, that sucks...hope you have insurance and receipts of all the stuff you put into your car.

must be those @$$holes that torched that guys srt4 on another forum. don't worry, as much as we all love our scions, they are still only machines and are 100% replacible. it sucks now, but look at it as a chance to start over again and make an even better xb.

once again, sorry dude, good luck, hope they find those two jerks and beat them to the full extent of the law for you.

 

Yeah we got insurance. But its just the idea that some random people burnt our car down for no reason at all that gets me. Anywho, we are planning to hunt down a black cherry pearl xB if anyone knows where there is one for sale. My mom originally and I guess she can get one now if we find one. Another option we are looking at is the new xB coming out in a month or two. I don't know yet...

Yeah true. Im leaning towards the new one. I might try to get it right when it comes out and have it tricked out as fast as I can. We will see I guess...

ohhh man.... i'm sorry to hear.... that's just really messed up how the car was targeted by arsonists.... that's probably the worst vandalism i have heard even done.....

no egging.. no keying... no... completely destroying a vehicle?? now that's just wrong....

btw..... something about a srt4 that was mentioned that was a target too..... same area?

 

sucks man.. .. on the bright side, u might be able to get a xB2 ... but nothing beats the classic xB one..

 

sorry to hear about the burned xB... but i smell upgrades with it. I hope you have receipts so you can get the money back at least.

 

sorry to be misleading, i was refering to another thread on sl about how on some other forum, two guys got together and torched his srt-4, but they got caught and are in prison. just trying to be alittle comical.

 

Well thanks guys for your concerns. The house wasn't damaged at all. The fire was put out in time by my dad and the a couple of garden hoses. My dad's newish tacoma was parked next to it and the side mirror melted right off the truck. Anywho, we are now looking for a black cherry xB if anyone knows of any for sale. Thanks again for all your concerns!

Your dad was home then? So he got out there in time to put the fire out with the garden hose - good.

I hope the cops catch the guys but I'm guessing that the bad guys were attacking your car because it looked nice.

 

Yeah a witness tried chasing the guys who did it but they got into a pick-up truck with a white camper shell and drove off. So he gave up chasing them and woke my dad up to put out the fire. I haven't personally seen it yet because Im in NY but i fly in tonight and will take some pics and post them as soon as i can.

Well today i took some pics and will try to post some by tonight. Im in the process of tracking down reciepts of all the stuff I put into the car and its not that easy. Well like i said, i will try to post some pics tonight so you guys can see what damage was done.

 

Are you sure you don't have any enemies or people you've ____ed off? Most people when they vandalize a car, they egg it, key it, maybe slash the tires and break the windows. Torching a car is going pretty damn far.

They had to bring some gasoline (or whatever in the bucket). Apparantly, they parked their truck (the one with the white camper shell) some distance away and walked to your driveway. They probably were doing surveillance on your house or otherwise knew or thought you weren't home.

Did your neighbor get a liscence plate # on the truck they got away in?

That would set me a blaze (litterally) I would be ____ed! You seem to be handling it well and that is good because it is replacable. The good thing is no one was hurt or killed (maybe not so good that the guys running away didn't get ran over by a car as they ran) but more so your house! We will keep an eye out for that Black Cherry Pearl for ya man. Scion people stick together!

If they get caught I would say "I dont like your clothes, They are too nice and I am jealous." Then light them up and just laugh as they run around. "You dont look too good as a stunt man" HA! Mean,but funny.
