Default Racing an Eclipse GS-T?

hey guys, how's everyone doing? i had an unusual encounter with a 90'-94' eclipse gs-t today. i pulled up to some crappy looking eclipse and the guy rolls down his windows and starts cussing at me. i ignore him and pull away at green. (i didn't see the race coming) he gets a head start, taking off a second before the light turned green and i chase after the light turns green. this was when i finally realized it was a GS-T noticing his blowoff valve. i catch up and release the throttle in caution of cops, but he decides to keep going; so i thought to myself "might as well". i caught up to him and tailgated him for 2 blocks on half throtle just sitting back and hearing his car still roaring in acceloration. (keeping up with a GS-T at half throttle? what the heck) the funny thing is, my tC's a bone stock automatic. must've been a crappy driver.

the fact that it was a first gen eclipse that probibly had the original engine in it dosnt supprise me especially if it was a gs-t...i had a second gen gs-t and the car got slower as the engine aged with the turbo and forced me to eventually repalce it...also its a well known fact taht mitsubishis turbos that came on the DSM were just garbage after about 30000 miles... thats not to say that his car was slow thats why you beat him but my bet is on this guy buying the car and putting on bolt on mods (I.H.E) and not messing with the original equipment

Don't street race. Let the other guy go next time.

etli is right . . don't. It's sooooo not worth it, trust me. Things like that would anger you but learn to control it or it can lead to serious consequences. I've been seeing a lot of dumb drivers out there lately. I used to drive with very little caution back then, but that yellow flag of mine is pretty high up now-a-days.

Besides, even if you win, what does it prove? Sure, your car is faster . . Remember though . . there are faster cars out there! Until you've beating them all (which is unlikely *speaking the honest truth*) . . will you ever be praised and remembered.

Just glad you did well and didn't come out with an accident or something. Becareful next time and think before you do. Peace!
