Who cares about "worthy" or not. this is a pretty raw show, they had a huge variety last year, finished and not even close... It is in a parking garage. It's more about looking at cars and hanging out than fancy displays and stuff like some shows. By the time you pay to park and to get into the show, you probably won't save much and it'll be a longer walk to your ice chest...

We should get together for lunch sometime. I work in downtown. Are you in SF during the day?

although these pics aren't from the J-Town meet, they are from a different JDMTheory meet and a lot of the same cars were at both. Just to give y'all an idea of the variety:

I think this was my favorite one:

I'll try to get my pics from last year up, but I didn't get many good ones.

Hey Sean, so $16 is to show right? And to just watch, your basically on your own parking on the street or wherever right?

I guess I mind as well register too then.

I registered under Team NVS too....I'd rather they grouped by team so we can keep an eye out on all of our cars...

last year they had one of the J-town underground parking lot and there was enough parking for everyone but I would say we all should be able to park next to each other !!

Here's the address:

Japantown Mall
1610 Geary Street
SF, CA 94115

Google Maps link to directions:

Rico, do those directions sound right from step 8 on? I know they've been changing things lately.

Last time, they had some of the garage available for general parking, so you shouldn't be stuck on the streets.

Also, they told us last time that in order to park together, we had to be there and stage together. Altho, they did allow a few peeps to squeeze in later but I wouldn't count on it. If y'all are caravanning it shouldn't be a problem. We should figure out a place we can hook up with you guys and all roll in together.

J-town is aactually further down the street.....

try plugging in "1610 Geary blvd"

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...CA&btnG=Search

I guess there's a ton of different ways to get there.....plus I think they closed the Harrison St off ramp (the first exit on the left side of the Bay Bridge, right?)

Plus, If you take Geary from Downtown, in addition to lots of pot holes, you'll hit some nasty bumps when crossing Van Ness and then again crossing Franklin.....

I usually avoid downtown as much as possible, plus this way might be a tad faster, maybe ???....I'm really bad at giving directions because I can't remember the streetnames as much as landmarks, so try at your own risk!.....let's see

from westbound 80
exit 9th St/ Civic Center
bear right
go straight onto Harrison
right on 9th
left on Howard
right onto Van Ness
left on Hayes
right on Franklin
left on Geary
J-town is on the right

OR

(simpler but bumpier route I think)
from westbound 80
exit 9th St/ Civic Center
bear right
go straight onto Harrison
right on 9th
straight towards Market
When you cross Market,
bear left and continue onto Hayes
right on Franklin
left on Geary
J-town is on the right

Hopefully, the JDM Theory guys know the quickest smooothest routes and they can email us or something.....

Here's what he sent last year, but I was thinking it might be outdated. I'm sure he'll send us more as the date nears. Besides, I'll be following someone cuz everyone knows I'm not allowed to lead...

Japantown Mall
1610 Geary Street
SF, CA 94115

San Mateo/San Jose area:

US-101 NORTH toward SAN FRANCISCO -
Take the NINTH ST exit toward CIVIC CENTER - go 0.7 mi
Bear on LARKIN ST - go 0.6 mi
Turn on GEARY ST - go 0.2 mi
GEARY ST becomes GEARY BLVD - go 0.5 mi
Arrive at 1610 GEARY BLVD, SAN FRANCISCO

East Bay/Berkeley:
Take BAY BRIDGE toward SAN FRANCISCO -
Take the HARRISON ST exit toward EMBARCADERO - go 0.3 mi
Turn on HARRISON ST - go 0.4 mi
Turn on 3RD ST - go 0.5 mi
3RD ST becomes KEARNY ST - go < 0.1 mi
Turn on GEARY ST - go 1.0 mi
GEARY ST becomes GEARY BLVD - go 0.5 mi
Arrive at 1610 GEARY BLVD, SAN FRANCISCO
