San Mateo HIN Tickets!!!
I saw a lot of scions rolling around this HIN at San Mateo's Expo Center and along with us rolled a whole lot of SM's Finest and I saw so many people get pulled over...so if you got a ticket there post up let us know cuz they where pulling everyone over.
...and no i didnt get a ticket (thank god...one more and that would of been my license) but there where at least 3 real close calls...had to shake em

I GOT A DAMN TICKET FOR MY EXHAUST!
I have the Tanabe Concept G which is 93 db at max RPM (legal is 95) and I still got a ticket. I wasn't even doing anything, I was driving normally at like 10 mph. He had a ride-along intern, so he was probably showing off that he can be "the law".
yikes man
...yeah they where pulling people over for no reason...the station is right next to the expo center...the five minutes it took me to drive up and park i saw at least 10 people get pulled over looking under ppls hoods....its a sad world for the tuners...you think they would let us go...go to santa cruz on 4.20 and everyone is smoking weed on hippy hill and cops dont give a hoot yet you go to an car show where everyone drives a modified car doing absoultely nothing and we get written up. Why cant they just let us be like on 4.20 in santa cruz? ...im sorry to hear about your ticket thats bs man i hate how they do that abusing their power esp if you where doing nothing wrong...I got an ticket for my exhaust even though its factory trd. I told the cop it was and showed him the paperwork stating that its from the factory and he didnt believe me...he wrote on the ticket "unsure exhaust" because he suspected i was lying to him and i still got charged and had to visit the state reff 3 times (yes i failed 2 times because they cant let anything go there.............there done with the rant...
post up your tickets if you got one i want to hear more.

San Mateo cops have nothing better to do. The Pleasanton cops at HIN were much more chill. They got other stuff to worry about.
San Jose and San Francisco HIN tend to be pretty bad since the big cities always need money

If his exhaust is on the raggedy edge of being too loud legally, than the cops are going to ticket him for it. It's up to him to prove to the ticketing officer or a judge that his exhaust is legal. It used to be that you could go to a referee station to get your exhaust decibels measured and not have to pay the tix but since the budget crunch, CA has shut down all the referree stations so when you get a fixit ticket, you're stuck having to pay it.
There's CA case law saying cops don't have to use instrumentation to prove your exhasut is too loud at the time of the ticket, It's at the officers discretion to issue the ticket. It's up to you, the motorist, to fight the ticket.
Roja probably needs to carry around documentation saying that his exhaust is legal - either a certificate of some sort from the exhaust mfg, or he could go to one of the CHP / DMV stations and pay for sound testing.

Dude that sucks. Booo that cop. Look at the bright side, at least he didn't pop the hood and pay attention to your tint
BTW, where are the pics. Too bad I missed this one...guess I haed to one in the summer.

I had my windows down, so he didn't know about the tint, but I'm happy he didn't ask me to pop my hood.
