self serve car wash in San Bruno/Dalycity/South SanFrancisco
I live in an apartment, but I want to wash my own car, does anyone know of any pay and spray type car washes in the area? I have quarters, but I dont know where to put them...
There is one is SSF just north of the Tanforan Shopping center. It's on the corner of S. Spruce Ave and Huntington Ave. It's kind of across the street from See's Candy. I've been there a few times!
There are two that I know about in SF if your interested?

The one on Bayshore is cool, watch out for nails and screws. And it can get kinda twisted getting out of there if you're not familiar with the place.
There's one off of 101 South (from San Francisco) in South City. Corner of Linden and Hillside Blvd. Decently clean too.

There's one on Geary that takes quarters: http://www.yelp.com/biz/geary-car-wash-san-francisco It's near the Spruce Street SF Toyota Maintenance building.
You can probably find more on Yelp.
If you're in the Daly City area, I've also tried a place near In-N-Out. Take the street between the back of In-N-Out and the DMV (Sullivan?) and just continue southward towards Seton Medical Center / Serramonte. Should be 2-4 blocks away from In-N-Out.
The thing about these quarter washes...bring extra money and get quarters ready in the pocket before you start. The timer will just keep running and you'll have less time than you think if you get caught up washing some part of the car, or trying to decide between presoak and soap spray, heh.

Yea, I would say an adequate wash always takes more than the minimum amount they ask you to pay. Time always goes up for me, so nowadays I stick with the garden hose even if my street isn't great for car washing.
Either yall are trippin or I'm lo-buget.
I bring a bucket to the car wash. Mcguire's gold at the bottom. Usual minimum is $1.25, and with that I fill the bucket and rinse the car. Once the timer stops, I use my sponge and wash my car - by hand. I don't trust those nasty hand held brooms they call "brushes".
Once I'm soaped, cleaned, and scrubbed, then I add quarters and rinse off the car, and rinse out the bucket. Done. No fuss, no muss, no rush.
Plus the fact that I feel kinda bad about washing my car in front of my house since the drain says it goes "directly into the bay".
