Default short shifter problems w/ a tc

i have a major prob on my hands, i bought a b and m short shifter from a site and, it was a true b and m shifter box and all, so i installed it and my stock shifter linkage is to short, it still works but sometimes i cant shift into some of the gears due to the linkage being to short, installed the the shifter w/ all the nes parts including the bushings the hold down the entire shifter but yeah....it a huge prob, please HELP!!!

Read over the instructions carefully, there was some part in there about not over tightening some part. I've had mine in for a while and its been working great.

Default short shifter

thanks everyone for the help and advice, i learned alot through this really bad experinence, b and m is great company to buy from but some of the instructions were pointless, and just an fyi for those of you that wont to buy a short shifter in the future, dont mess w/ the shifter cables (linkage), they cost 750 bucks through scion to replace and the warranty ends at 12k, its shinanigans!

What part was messed up? Are you talking about the cable part where you have to push & twist or what? Pix would be great. I don't consider myself a mechanical person but I was able to get the B&M installed w/o breaking anything.
