Default watch out for the cops hanging out on tully near eastridge

got my very very very first ticket from them...

decided to do a right turn on a red light.. slowed down to 5mph.. clear.. and made the right.. 3 secs later.. i got pulled over.. wrote me a ticket.. for not doing a COMPLETE STOP.. i know we have to fully stop at red light when we do right turn.. but the cop was being a perfectionist.. i told him i saw it was clear so i went ahead and he said "that's all in your head."

anyways the ticket didnt say any amount and it says "safe" violation.

how much could it be in $ for the violation i did???

thx

Last time my mom did that, it was around $400 I believe because you actually ran a red light when you failed to stop.

Just hope that the fine isn't too expensive, because there's no way you can fight running a red light in court.

Chances are is hes correct. The violation and cost vary and make little sence. 27mph over in one city was $150 ticket. 15 over in the next was $300. Rollerblading in a buisness district was $250. I never understand how they determine the cost, I just pay it and learn a valuable lesson each time.

I got 2 tickets. The first one was in Yolo county, and that cost me $230 for goin 21 over, the other one was in Sacramento county and was about $150 for 14 over. Both times, the option for me to go to traffic school was $39.

And yes, going to traffic school does take out the point for the ticket. But you can only do it if you haven't gotten a ticket for the last 18 months, or so.

Don't know. I haven't done it yet. But i'm pretty sure you just have to attend for so many hours (might be 8 ), and you're done.

Traffic School online is a joke. Scroll down the screen so it thinks you read and clic next. Small test at end of each chapter. If you fail you can re-try until you pass. Same with the final at end of it. Some online schools even forward the info to the courts for you. I used www.removeaticket.com both times and took me 30 minutes to complete. Once you opt for traffic school tge court will send you an approved list of online classes you can do. I HIGHLY suggest it

Thanks for the heads up on that. I am at eastridge a lot too, with or without the scion. Still wondering why they had to stop you for something that is useless. Try hitting up this site:

My understanding is you still have to pay the ticket and the pay for traffic school. The benefit for going to school is that the ticket does not show up on your driving record so your insurance rate will stay the same. I also heard that you can go to school for each county you get a ticket in but only once every 18 months. I could be wrong its been five years since I lived in Cali.

The online school are a joke and easy they use to log how long you are connected to their site. I know people who would sign in and surf the web and then every few minutes go back and click somewhere on the page so it would not timeout. If you decide to take it in person do your self a favor and sign up for the comic driving schools they will keep you awake.

Plea "no contest." This means that you are not going further with fighting the ticket. Guilty means that you admit to running the red light.

No contest means that you are not admitting fault and are just paying the fine, where as entering a guilty plea means you're admitting that you ran the light.

Tell the judge you are a student and don't have much money they may give you a lower fine + community service for a day or two. Make sure you show up to court dressed nice that always helps. You will get a minute or two to speak, sometimes they will try to just move to the next case so it really depends on how busy they are and what kind of day the judge is having.
