On behalf of all of us that came up from SoCal, we just wanted to thank you all for your warm welcome and for giving us the time to meet you. I think we got alot accoplished in the short time we were there, but some issues were not and may never be. I think with the reorganization and the division of the regions in the Bay area, it will make things easier to organized functions and to communicate with each other. It was great to see old friends and to meet new ones. Thanks also for the Sunday breakfast meet and Hope to see you all again very very soon. Peace

yeah.. the hatchet was more ignored and thrown out the window.. kinda way.... if people decide to go outside and find it though.... that's their problem.

as a wise man one said, "Think inside the box, everyone else is too busy trying to think outside of it"

the hatchet is out of the way at the least... we have more focused things to work on now.

In the meeting, the attendees essentially agreed to host more events (simple items such as KK or breakfast meets) and have a bigger showing at larger meets. The emphasis is not on individual acclaim, but rather on group showing. We want to build upon our current members friendships and use that to help the group grow.

The point of making the smaller regions wasn't to break-up the group, rather make it easier for members to coordinate meets. We all know that a meet in the South bay could equal 2 hours commute time and vice versa for any events in the 707.

Obviously, the club wasn't operating in the best atmosphere before. The people attending the meeting decided to just push forward and make this what it should be:

People having a good time... with a common hobby linking them.

That is my goal and that is what I'll be pushing for. Everyone wants to see the Doc get tipsy!

in which case. will the heads of the five families take responsibility for communication of a meet? Will each family host it's own meets in their own areas?

Also, if I were to host/suggest a mini-meet in mountain view @ KK, would I be infringing on SE turf? Would you folks still show up even though I'm not SE?

And how come Gabe is not the head of the South Bay family?

150+ miles round trip for me to get to breakfast Sunday. I shouldn't complain though since the SoCal people had a longer travel.

Yes... the heads of each mini-region will contact other members regarding upcoming events. Each group will rotate hosting meets for all of S/E and anyone else who would like to attend. As are all the meet & greets... it isn't just for club members. Everyone is invited.

Also, if I were to host/suggest a mini-meet in mountain view @ KK, would I be infringing on SE turf? Would you folks still show up even though I'm not SE?
Hey man... like it has always been... post up a meet... people are down if they are down. KK, Monkeys, Chili's... Belvy on the rocks... you name it!

And how come Gabe is not the head of the South Bay family?
Tim (ScionSniper) stepped up and asked to be the rep. So he is taking it on now.

another "OG" and i were talking and in general (calm down ya'll...i said IN GENERAL) your meets are restricted to either dealership meets, shows, or Stuft Pizza. now thats cool...

...but what happen to BBQ's at the lake (or where ever)? what happen to meets at chili's, kk, or a parking lot next to a starbucks? i am by no means suggesting that i would like the scene to "be like it was 2 years ago", but rather theyre are alot of families that own these cars that would like to see an alternative to the 3 types of meetings that usually occur. in other words, bring variety to your scene. hell, marvin left Nor*Cal, and you all forgot about CITY BEACH...???

with all due respect, you need some variety. the name of your club includes the word "Evolution". how about evolving to another location for a meet. ...but elk grove is right around the corner... how about some one NEW step up and say i'm going to have a meet "here" and organize it, follow through, then DO IT. just cause you have these "heads" of a section does not mean that all meets go through them, or they alone can hold or approve meets...i hope that's not what it means...

i still have "meets", whether they are at my house, at a bar, at a restaurant, LAS VEGAS, TAHOE...etc. in short, YOU (Nor*Cal SE) have lost your variety. take note of what they do in So*Cal. BBq's, bowling gtg, club nite, family day...and the best we've got is Outback Steak House somewhere in the cut. you only do an amusement park becasue SCION organized it. as far as locations go, an OG said to me, folks don't want to drive into the city because of the traffic. ok...but some of you will make a trip to Southern Cal, and come back the SAME day...but San Fran's got traffic...???

lastly, i hope new folks that come to these borads (the Pacific Mid Section) don't leave with the impression that this is about Scion Evolution. This forum is for you, UN-Affiliated or Not, to post your thoughts, events, meets, etc...for you to meet some really cool people, exchange ideas, possibly network, or what ever you make out of it.

my hats off to cats like danny (doctorcue)...one of the MOST likable people i have ever met. folks in SEHQ should take a look at this dude. heard he had a lot to say last sat. hope folks listened. if you didn't, i'll tell you this: you not listening to danny is more a reflection of YOU, than it is him...

just my ramblings...its the belvy talking...pass my tonic...

...take it or leave it alone.

i cannot disagree with you there. our usual get togethers have been very repetitive.. there's the stevens creek every friday and the occasional stuft pizza for us down here in the south bay.

with some, if not most of our busy schedules, it is convienent at times to have that routine-like setting. but with this regrouping, i do expect to have each region be able to organize their own regional meets locally and to have them more often with variety.

i already have ideas for this summer to organize a BBQ (thinking at Cunningham park) or have a trip to an amusement park (thinking PGA) when it would be more convienent for the majority of people's schedules.

as far as now and into the springtime, i am open to any ideas that people have. some people need to realize that their input is valuable to this community. people shouldn't feel uncomfortable presenting ideas. if they have any problems, they should talk to someone about it (liasons have other jobs besides just organizing events, ya know) anyone can pm me.

and yes... being that this is not the SE boards, everyone is welcome to give input. i don't discriminate against anyone... i hung out with all the San Diego SE members for almost a full year before I decided to join the SE family... nothing changed.... the Scion community as a whole is great. it's all about the family atmosphere.

there are however, punks that own scions and would rather not be affiliated with any community but their own. i am somewhat disappointed that norcal has a much more abundance of these individuals than socal, but with people like these, sometimes you have no choice but to ignore them and move on. accept the fact that they're not going to join the family.

i will say those ideas are out there.. implementing them will take some assertiveness, and hopefully other individuals will help to support that. that's what we've been lacking... not really the ideas, but support from everyone. many people have shy'd away from going to meets and get togethers for some reasons which may or may not be obvious... but i do hope that people realize that things have and will continue to change from this point forward.

Niam it was nice meeting you and your wife....I think your right. A meet in between the bigger meets would be good. I am down for a bbq or a bowling meet any day.

Join what family....SE and what community do you speak of? Please dont place all in your "i am disappointed in NorCal" category. I am one of the original NorCal scion owners...August 03.

NorCal has digressed from parkin lot pimpin (mini meets at KK) to people bickering (so much to the point that people from SoCal had to come up here)....and why...because a "Club" was introduced.......

so we are "punks" for not wanting to be a member in your club?

I didn't see anything when I bought my car that said I had to belong to a certain club. Heck I don't even belong to a club. And I'm a punk because I'm not.

Its about individuality. I'll just take your advice and ignore you and move on.

GABE: What did I tell you man?! I told you that these young bucks wanted to come up. They want to be like those that they follow. Get a hold of your people man.

SquallHeart: I don't belong to a "club". Don't need to. Call me a punk again and I'm going to stomp all over your parade.

Congratulations on running SouthBay w/ Tim. I know you guys will do great things for SE in Nor*Cal. But understand this: Folks in Nor*Cal DO NOT need to be pushed into joining a "club". Joing a "club "is done because like-minded folks want to hang out and be identified together. I am extremely pleased that you have the same passion and fire as others to make SE in Nor*Cal thrive and grow. But you better ask Gabe if it's a good idea to call "me, and my kind" 'punks' again.

Keep the passion. Please don't lose it. But control yourself better, or you're gonna get your mouth washed out w/ soap.

I'm assuming when you say "punks", you are referring to those other Scion drivers who have no regards to other people when they are driving all stupid. right? Cuz I have had a few times where I would run into Scion drivers who drive like complete idiots and treat me like crap on the road.

And I hope you aren't calling them "punks" because they are not in any "Scion Club". As a newly appointed East Bay Liason for SE/NorCal Region, I am not going to force anyone into joining anything. I think it is up to that individual if he/she want to be a part of certain club.

Just my opinion.

i don't know squall, but when i first read that...my first reaction was he was reffering to all UN-Affiliated. but after reading it again, i think tammie is right on the button. one couldnt possibly think that ALL those that don't join a CLUB is a "PUNK".

give a person a little more credit...until he clarifies...

...then FLAME HIS AZZ...!!!
