Are you going to swap the SR20 into a Scion? A budy of mine has an SR20 powered 240sx, it has a lot of power but it still needs work to be a competitive track car. Just dropping that engine in a 240 doesn't make it a good sports car.

 

yes i got a 240 my motor is almost dead i need to replace it but i dont want to pu t the same motor

Why don't you tell us why you really don't like the KA24. We won't hold it against you.

 

i had a 93 altima with a ka24de. that thing had quite the torque.

thats my useless opinion for the day.

 

i got the ka24e that is more horsepower than ka24de (10hp +)
but the engine is very hard to upgrade

 

yes de's are better, but i think sr20's are a better motor, lighter, TONS of parts for it. and very bulletproof. plus it has oil squirters that shoot oil up into the pistons....the sr motor is truely a great motor but some people think the 2.4 is better, sure turbo's spool better but u got a LOT more weight...

 

:D You find one yet? you didn't mention which version you were looking at, FWD,AWD or RWD.

You can try a few of the "nickle and dime " sites, I know there are a couple for sale there.Or do you want a custom built race motor? Troy Ermish Racing is the place you want to go.

I got a 510 wagon and a 521 long bed, both move pretty well with the sr20.

You might try looking in the Local P&P ( pick and pull) the one on the end of mowry in Fremont/Newark just dropped a couple 2 days ago, if your willing to DIY.

 

Look for someone who's got a complete car (or wrecked car) with an SR20 engine in good working order. That will save you big bucks, since you don't need the wrecked chassis and other parts, just the drivetrain components.

 

^^^ Wouldn't that require him to make a trip to Japan? I'm pretty sure there weren't any cars sold in this country with a rwd SR20 already in it. Although there are probably enough of them out there that have been swapped that he might find one.

Pick and pull recyclers has just dropped 4, yes 4, sx's with sr20s in them.

There were 3 left when I went home. seems Johnny Law cleaned out there yard again.
