For the people in the bay area SJ/SF/DC is it safe to tint 35% in the front? And do you guys usually roll your windows down when driving?

 

i have 50% in the front and i still drive with the windows down or half way down....my friend has 35% on his matrix and only rolls them down around cops.....

i've seen quite a few cars with darker front tint driving around...even around cops, i think it matters on the cop and how you're driving...some cops don't care, but it's still illegal

 

I have 20% tint in front, I try to roll down the windows, but when its cold I don't. Didn't get a ticket for it yet. hehe

 

Nice! Is it smart to roll it down half way, or open the windows on the freeway?
And at night, do you usually just closed the windows?

 

I just keep it closed on the freeway.

 

When it's raining and a cop is nearby, rolling down those windows is gonna suck. That may be the time for the fix it ticket gets handed out.

I heard something the other week that in California you can have any percentage behind the driver.

 

or do what i do sometimes....open the sunroofs sliding shade and turn on the dome light....haha

Hey 35% front and 5% back . . Carlos is right . . just open the shades and you can see the driver. That's what I do all the time since I go see my GF at DC!! You guys know how DC Cops are . . so yeah.

 

10% up front, 3% all around. (I layered 5% over the stock 20%)

And yes, I get tagged all the time for tint. Half a dozen so far.

 

That is crazy . . but hey, as long as you like it . . that's cool. You do what you gotta do in the back seat ;)

i wanted 5% in the rear, but i wanted to see more then just headlights at night so i went with 20% in the rear
