Default 4th Annual February Drive

For those who have attended in the past, this is a different drive because of flood damage our usual route is underconstruction and Rainbow Falls state park is closed. We still wanted to make a drive and make a donation so made an alternative route. Its much shorter (more of cruise then spirited drive) Hope to see some of you there.

Important info:

Who: Everybody

What: 4th Annual February Drive!

When: Sunday; February 24th, 2008 (Time: See below)

Where: Starts in Olympia / Ends in Centralia (see details below)

Why: Fun! (Also to help out flood victims)

(Optional : Please bring canned goods to donate.)

Details:

8:00 AM Meet for Breakfast at IHOP --- 3519 Martin Way E, Olympia (Optional)

Coming from south, Take exit 107 turn right on Pacific ave, turn left on Lilly, go over freeway, then turn left on Martin way, IHOP on your left hand side. (slow coming into Parking lot for LOW cars )

Coming from North, take exit 109, turn right on Martin, IHOP just past Lilly on left hand side. (slow coming into Parking lot for LOW cars )

9:30 - 10:00 AM Meet at (4141 MARTIN WAY LACEY, WA 98516)K-Mart parking lot (1/2 mile east of IHOP on Martin)

Here is a map of the drive : (Different then the past because of flood damage to Rainbow Falls Area)

No it doesn't have to be canned goods you are right. I'm sorry they just have to be Non perishable food items.

Here is a list I found on a red cross site.

Here are some suggestions of canned and dry goods that are nutritious and easy to use:
(asks that you avoid items in glass as they often break in transit.) Thank You!

Tuna Fish or other canned fish or meat
Beef Stew, Meat Soups
Hearty Soups
Canned Spaghetti or Pasta
Chili
Beans (kidney, pinto, green, yellow, refried or black beans)
Baby Food or Formula
Ensure or other nutritional supplement drinks

Rice
Dry Beans
Noodles, Macaroni
Powdered Milk
Pancake or Baking Mixes
Cereal/Oatmeal
Granola Bars
Peanut Butter
Jelly (in plastic jars)

Personal Care Items
Diapers
Toothpaste
Toothbrushes
Soap
Shampoo
Disposable Razors

I will try to make it.

BTW I live on Highway 6 (same highway as Rainbow Falls), If you need someone to check out roads if you still want to try to hit some down here let me know. Or need help moving the route I know most of the roads in the county.

BTW This is a great idea as there is some serious destruction around here.

In case anyone missed it on my flood thread,

There are 600+ pictures there.

I'll add your calendar link to this event's listing.

If you ever have events you'd like me to cross post on the meetup let me know anytime!!! Ours is turning out to be less of a Scion-only calendar and more of a multi-make listing of various types of events.

bump for a fun drive, was just checking the date, I will not be able to make this after all. I don't know how I missed the date, but I will be sitting in the grandstands at California Speedway watching roundy-rounds, Go Kasey Kahne.
