Default about the new rs 6.0 tc.

i'm sure i am going to hear everyone's opinions on this. i hope i do.

but the one good thing i have seen on some websites about its debut at the Chicago auto show was that it may have a 6-speed as a standard option.

since the official thread for this topic was shut down i figured i might at least bring this to peoples attention as it has been published but majorly overlooked.

maybe a typo but there are a lot of websites citing this information over and over.

here's an example http://www.automobilemag.com/feature...6_0/index.html

anyone with " real information" wanting to clear this up

it is a typo. every other publication i pulled up just says manual transmission without listing the number of gears. if it came with a 6-speed, people would be soiling themselves over it.

it would be listed among the features along with the audio system and vinyl graphics. but it isn't so it definitely won't be.

you didn't look hard enough, granted it does seem odd. but why does it keep popping up?

so again i dont personally believe it but it would be the only selling point i can think of.

word around the net is they may start using the 2ar-fe instead of the 2az-fe......sooo? it would all make sense.

bad news for boost fiends, as the 2ar-fe is said to be a high compression setup like the 2zz.

none of those are official scion statements, just browse autoblog, and read the official press releases from scion themselves. they make no mention of the car being offered with a 6 speed manual or a different engine. if they did, that would be a huge change, and would definetly stir much more interest in the car. i'm guessing those other sites you posted just guessed that the scion had a 6 speed transmission, because to be honest, when even the kia forte is offered with a 6 speed manual, or a nissan versa, the scion is sounding more and more dated with only a 5 speed.

no one said they were official statements. and taken from an auto show
i hope they would do their homework better.

problem i have is there isn't an official spec sheet i can see yet on the car.
besides the website touting its usual corny upgrades.

but i did look up the spec sheets for just the 2010 scion, the usual.. even 5 speed.
but it doesnt say anything about the rs 6.0.

and i asked for some form of proof for or against, i really wish we could
have a simple shot of the shift ****. than it would all be answered.

but really im glad it came up, because it has me looking
elsewhere to make this happen/possible.

either way its never bad to ask questions or to hope for something.

and information prevails, on a side trip me and kanchi made. we found out undeniably that the blue rs is....fail.

well as far as anything innovative.

yeah 5-speed, but it was a long wait and a lot of digging. even the scion rep was confused and couldn't find the info immediately on the new rs 6.0.

so here's to hoping........that they make something better in future versions.

figured i would share

Thats the last version. Scion doesnt give a crap about the old gen tCs anymore. A new more power tC will emerge March 31. Well, slightly more powerful. Pretty much probably fwd as well. I will kick someone in the face if they make the new tC RWD.

.. you expected it not to be a 5-speed?

you should've known it was a failure after what color they chose for it to be.
and rumors.. once started.. are hard to put out..

which is they i tend to avoid that crap and get the facts before i become all hopeful.
autoblog.. and other rumor-mill sites.. though correct perhaps a large percentage of the time.. the small amount of fail have me consider them non-reliable sources.

hmm.. that picture looks like it is a xB2...
someone linked this site:
http://thecollegedriver.com/posts/96...-2011-Scion-tC

which shows something a bit more believable.
meh.. i still predict that it's nothing to get excited about.

The picture I linked *is* an XB2 for the purpose of comparing thecollegedriver article pictures to that of the XB2 interior.

I thought that was clear, also, thecollegedriver article pictures *were* on my first link the above post but they got taken down for whatever reason, so I was comparing them.

that traction control button had better have a way of being fully disabled.
