Default Alarm: DIY or should I have a shop do it?

Very experienced with car audio and have been doing my own installs for years (amps, speakers, subs, HUs, etc.).

However, I've never done a car alarm.

Should I give it a shot or just pay a shop to do it? How much different is it than your normal car audio electronics?

Thanks

The unit that I plan on using is the Crimestopper SP-100 which has remote keyless entry.

i would say do it yourself, i mean how does anyone learn unless they make mistakes. but i guess if you have deep pockets like half of the kids here you would just take it in instead of learning something.

your choice and there's plenty of info on here and the net to set you strait. if anything and you do mess up you can always just take it to the shop and have them fix it.

nothing ventured nothing gained.

I'm definitely leaning towards giving it a shot myself. Found two good alarm install guides in the ScionLife tech section. The alarm installation manual is pretty straightforward.

I guess I'll wait for the next non-rainy day and get to it!

sad part is i told them to make sure when alarm goes off my HIDs do not flash......but there was no way to bypass that part on the alarm that he could find.......but if it gets broke into flashing HIDs are the least of my problems huh.....lol
