Bringing my car to WA soon...
Hello everyone.
I'm planning on transporting my car to WA in few month.
I need to swap my HG and i'm honestly tired of shops charging astronomical prices for whatever they feel like.
My question is, is there anyone around tacoma-seattle area who can help me with pulling my engine out ?
local car enthusiast's help would be nice instead of wasting money on shops...

Well i techincally do not have a place for the car.
I was thinking about bringing it on post to a auto hobby shop. I'm sure they have one of Ft.Lewis or on McChord since now they are a joint base i can use either one.
And at the same time we can install my Stance coilovers, i'm tired of lookig at them sitting there all lonely in the box!
Thanks Kanchi..I appreciate it and it's nice to know at least someone is willing to help
Usually everyone likes to cheer on but when it comes down to actually do something they all dissapear ! lol

when you think youll be coming here? I might beable to help depending on when it is. If my brothers friend still lives up towards Fort Lewis base hes got a big shop youd beable to keep it in and come and go as you want! just let me know, ill ask him tomorrow
I'm in WA but my car is not.
I was not planning on bringing it here, but since its been a rough road for me i'm tired of trying to fix the car and not being there. SO i want to get it over here and do it myself or under my close supervision where i can check on it anytime !

I'm planning to transport my car here towards mid to late winter. It would be very nice to actually know a 100% that i will be able to have my car at the shop and be able to work on it anytime.

Today i was thinking maybe i should purchase a stock engine so that way we can drop it in as soon as the car gets here i can go get it tuned on stock motor and then just take my time and prepare my built engine that we are going to take out of the car.

If you've got the spare cash for a backup motor, I totally recommend it. Even if you don't use it that often, having it available for any time that the built motor is down can be a huge bonus.
Pulling motors isn't really all that technically hard (especially with all the space with have in our bay) and so long as you go through all the steps and make sure everything is unhooked (and marked so you can reinstall easily) it's really just putting in the time and sweat to pull it out. Oh, also, a few specific tools help make things a lot easier (Engine hoist for example).
I'd be happy to help if you need an extra set of hands, but I'm a pretty big flake and my schedule sucks so I'd recommend working with Kanchi instead.
Will be nice to have more boosted tCs up here. I'll have to find time to actually start going to the meets again so I can say hello and meet the car. Do you track at all? There's a nice race track w/drag strip and karting course about 40 mins south of Seattle and would be great to see more tCs there.
