Default Call King 5 NOW to complain...

Hello all...

After already making 1 call this morning trying to alert the station that they had misinformation regarding the make/model of the car involved in today's accident they have gotten EVEN WORSE...

Now they are trying to give Scion a bad name and about to go on air with more misinformation. They are trying to say that Scion's are not safe.

Their updated story as of 4:15 pm has this to say on their front page...

"While investigators said they don’t know the exact cause of the accident the Scion BX, which lists at $14,500, just last month rated poorly in government crash tests. In fact, in the 2006 tests the Scion scored lowest among passenger cars with an 18 percent chance of rollover in the test. By comparison, the top-rated Pontiac 6 had a 9 percent rollover rate."

http://www.king5.com/localnews/stori....ae82c14a.html

First of all it was a tC not a BX...secondly it is not as unsafe as they say!

I called the station and was poo-poo'd as "I'm sure the information came from our investigative staff and is right". They would not listen to me.

They are about to go on air with this information...call them now at 1-800-45-NEWS-5.

This just goes to show that you can't believe everything the news says. Kinda how I feel about what they said about the Les Schwab scandal.

But hey . . . at least you tried to set them straight!

Oy vey...

They said on King 5 that it may have been the "design of the car" that caused the accident.

They did finally get the make/model right...Scion tC...and they updated their website at 4:58 pm removing information on the safety information and cost of the xB.

But yet they still insinuate that it was the faulty design of the car that could have "contributed to the accident".

omg they just said Scion tc! omg!

and yes, it would be as unsafe as they it is if it scored 2nd lowest in the tests.

As was posted on the other thread...the tC actually has pretty good ratings...King 5 was comparing the wrong car to the wrong class (xB to Pontiac G6)...here's that link:

I got my original black box because of the safety features and I feel it is very safe. Remember, it is rare to find features such as vehicle stability assist and traction control in a car that is in the price and class of the xB.

Here is the government's safety information on the xB:

http://www.safercar.gov/NCAP/Cars/3725.html

In addition...I can attest to the safety of it after having a MAJOR accident -

My sister was clipped on the rear left bumper while driving my black box at 70 mph on I-5 (the other car was going similar speed). After being rear ended the box spun left in a 180. The VSA kicked in and kept the car upright. Then the same car that originally hit her T-boned her on the driver's side.

And in the end after all of the spinning and collisions...my sister was able to get out without ANY injuries!!! That says safety to me!!! The car held together great and even though we just cleared $12K in repairs, it was worth it because my sister made it out safely!

They need a call from a Toyota lawyer to straighten them out. They probably have to have their names over their parking spots so they can find their cars at night. What does a car running head first into a concrete barrier have to do with rolling over??

Do they have a website? we could pepper them with complaints..............
