So I was reading on how to get the road scum and the "do it yourself" car wash silicone off a car's windshield the other day. A couple articles said to use coke a cola on a washcloth and scrub the window... So I gave it a shot...

Believe it or not... Diet coke took all the scum right off in a just a few minutes...

Ya, I know.. Everyone knows coke is cool..... Anyone want to give it the pepsi challenge?.......

 

I knew you could pour it onto battery terminals to break down corrosion...but...

 

Or plop Mentos in it to make a cool fountain.

Did you know if you leave a nail in a can of coke it will eventually completely dissolve? Fun stuff, that Coke...

A girl I dated awhile back knew a dentist that was a friend of her dads and they placed a pulled tooth in a glass of mountain dew.......disolved completley in 3 days......

gulp gulp the dew and soon you can't chew!

Also if you dump a piece of foil in coke you can remove rust.

you should just put a kit together in your trunk... ready-mix concrete, 5 lb. sledge, pliers, 9mm and a six'r of coke

 

To the OP, Coke is very useful in removing basically anything that has calcium, lime or rust. It will remove road debris from your window, or stains from your chrome. However, I would suggest using plain soda water, as it contains far less sugar and will be much safer on your paint and other parts of the car.

And, there are far safer products to use on your windows than soda water. There are products made specifically for your windows...not just glass cleaner either.

I'm kind of a detailing nut, so I cringe a little when I hear that people do this.
