Did anyone mention Blues Brothers? I think all of the others on my list have been mentioned... Terentino, Kevin Smith... I think the Matirx (all of em) may make it to cult fame. ... 12 Monkeys (Brad Pitt was brilliant) The Lost boys, another gem. and yes, I do recall the Wraith... one of the villans was calles "skank" he liked to inhale WD-40... beautiful

Does anyone have a good definition of what a "cult film" is? Your background might give you a head start on that, CA...

(I would even slip my top film into the category, but I'm not sure it would be accurate - the '66 Cannes winner, A Man and a Woman).

Tomas

Ahhh...we probably should define! This is according to Wikipedia (not really a technical "source" but close enough for us):

"Cult film is a colloquial term for a film that has accrued a devoted group of fans. Often, cult movies have failed to achieve fame outside of a small group (however, there are some exceptions.) Sometimes, the group is bound to the film by a shared sense of ridicule for it, rather than artistic merit."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult_film

They have a list of cult films there...I totally forgot the David Lynch classics!!!

Ok, if you're gonna add Corvette Summer, how about The Guyver?

You know, the super cheesy action movie from the early 90's.....kung-fu fighting with monsters....based on a Japanese manga of the same name....no?
Well, Mark Hamill was in that one too.

I think that having Mark Hamill in the cast automatically gives a movie 'cult' status. :D

Goonies was a cool movie.... Tron rocked.. I was just thinking that they need to remake that with today's technology... (the arcade game was cool too).

Summer vacation (i think... had demi more, bobcat goldwaith, and a few other "names" summer vacation on nantucket island boat race where they jack the dudes ferrari engine to power the boat...)

Memphis Belle (eh.. i like ww2 movies and b-17s.. especially ones that dont toss in overt love stories as filler)

Tron * (good call to who ever mentioned that)
Dazed and Confused.... long but good... "fresh meat!!"
Stoned and Confused... not as long but funny as heck(parody of ^^)
Black Belt Jones... cheesy 70's black kung-fu movie... greatest line i think "who hit me?!?!...... Batman motherF**"

whats that other kung-fu movie... with "bruce-leeroy"... break dancing... weird powers at the end etc... enter the dragon or somthing like that.

Starship Troopers..... sequal sucked but first was good

HOWARD THE DUCK!!!
