Okay...now I know you all got your copy of Entrepreneur magazine in the mail today and right away you noticed the blurb on page 21. When talking about the top 10 things to do to sell to the Gen X/Y Consumer...Tip #6:

6. Keep It Underground "Find a core group; they'll spread the message." Toyota's "underground launch" of Scion to urban trendsetters now has more Gen Y consumers buying Scions than any other car brand.

My only question...can we now consider ourselves urban trendsetters?

CoreyAnn, I used to live in Auburn - there isn't enough 'urban' there for you to be an 'urban trendsetter.'

(And there certainly isn't enough 'urban' in University Place for me to qualify, either. I do know, though, that I first saw just a flicker of an xB rolling down an urban canyon and turning right into the distance, in a commercial, as someone else was channel surfing - by the time we got back to that channel, the commercial was gone, but I still remember my comment to them: "I want one! What is it?")

Actually, CoreyAnn, I'm not sure most folks would even qualify Seattle as being sufficiently urban.

Love my little UUV (Urban Utility Vehicle). :D

Haha...I agree...Auburn is not urban (and I remember when growing up in east Pierce/King county was considered rural with all of the livestock and farmland).

Hey...I used to live in downtown Seattle (and Mo & I are hoping to move back soon). I'd consider downton 'urban' since its reflecting a more Manhattan feel.

Otherwise...the closest 'urban' is probably San Fran or LA.

LA?! Urban?

There's also Vancouver, B.C. But Seattle's urban enough.
