Default Got a ticket :(

So, I just finished my finals today and RIGHT when I made a right turn out of campus I get pulled over. He said I didn't completely stop before I made my turn, and that might've been true, might've been false, I wasn't paying attention. The fine is for 294 bucks... anyone know how I can reduce that or maybe know a way to get out of it? :D This is my first ticket...

Just to get off topic for a hot minute but why would you stop at a yield sign?

Go to court on the date and ask the judge for a reduction. If this is your first infraction, they should reduce it.

Make a deal with the judge, but you better have a clear driving record.

yea if your driving record is good they should be pretty easy on you.. is there a sidewalk between the driveway and road??

although i got nailed in oregon with blue dot tailights and the podunk town clown (judge) didnt know what they were and i even showed him a pic of my bug and he popped me for what the whole bail was...

good luck!

"he popped me for what the whole bail was...", what does that mean? You got off the hook or he punished you?

even sendin in the ticket in as a no contest will result(should) in a drop in the ticket.

If i were you however i woudl go to court and tell them you stopped, it was a clear road at the time and you pulled out safely , The cop may not even turn up and you get off scot free.

THeres no reason to just accept the fine, never do that

The ticket was ORS 811.505 Fail to yield from emerging driveway. He told me that's the same as not stopping completely. ... but isn't yield different than stop?

The base fine is $242.00 .. i coulda had 244 mcchicken sandwhiches at mcdonalds....

That seems like a pretty steep ticket (monetary-wise). I was caught going 10 mph over and it was $124. Got it reduced to $75, after trying to tell them there was a freaking hill.

Was there a sign that said yield? If there was then you do not need to stop, but you do need to let any drivers who are going straight go before you do. If there was no stop sign then I don’t see how they got you.

just show up at court.
Here in NJ, i believe they reduce 2 tickets for your every FIVE YEARS. (can anyone verify that?)
Each ticket's point reduced to half. With the court fee. I pay almost same as the fine on the orignal speeding ticket.

It was a three way road ( like a T).

he was about a block away.

the road was empty, yet he claimed it was really busy.

another thing was, after i gave my license and registration, i heard a loud pop on the driver side of the car. my girlfriend's cousin said he kicked my car... (which i doubt, probably his gun or his flashlight on his belt), but he just looked at me and walked back towards his patrol car. dangg... at least say sorry. so rude too

I know a lawyer that can make almost any ticket go away.
