This is how my weekend went, how about yours?
Many of you already know, so I'll share it with the others that don't know. On my way home from Bellevue yesterday my car was acting a little weird. Anyhow, long story short as I am coming down 405 South I heard a big boom, my oil idiot light came on & then the whole back of my car turned into smoke.
Once I got onto the side of the freeway, underneath the hood & a little inside the cabin filled out with smoke. Once I got outside, there was oil everywhere and i mean everywhere. There was a streak of oil from the front of the car to the back & in puddles everywhere. It was crazy, but at least i got to create some shoulder artwork lol
Had the car towed to my best friends shop in Seattle and found out this morning that I had a sent a rod out the side of the motor and now it's out for the count.
I'm trying to determine all my options on what to do with the car - as far as replacing the motor, selling the car & getting something new and so on. Anyhow, fun times
Below is a link to pictures if anyone cares to see them.

Sad to see man, very sorry for the loss. On the bright side you have a ton of Scion specialists at your disposal as well as a bunch of engine swap specialists lol.
Find a cheap used motor, get a bunch of guys together (us) to help with the swap and sell off the turbo stuff and trade it on a FR-S.

Yes it won't be this weekend.
Right now I have been offered a motor (free), but need to make sure the internals are good. I may have access to a lift and I already have access to friends (you guys). So far, things are looking up to getting a replacement motor done.
If it works out this way, I am hoping to replace the clutch with a stage 2 & keeping the turbo & car for at least another year then sell/trade the car for a FR-S (release series or 2nd generation) when there are more parts available & all the bugs are fixed.
I really love the xB and it will be hard to part with it, but I will part with it if it's for the right car. Right now the only thing my wife and I could comfortably afford is the iQ. This could be a fun car, but I am not nearly as excited about that car as the FR-S or STI, so I would rather have my box up and running again.
It's real hard to go from no car payment to a car payment
I really appreciate all the effort and help you guys have been offering. This could be a great experience for all of us to learn/do so this could be fun.

Thanks everyone. I am working on getting the car towed from the shop it's at now in Ballard back to my house (hopefully tomorrow).
I have gotten a couple quotes from mechanics (that have done this before) so now I have that information at least, but still having a hard time finding a motor that is inexpensive with relatively low miles. Getting there, but haven't found one yet.
I have decided to not continue running the turbo so I am really really hoping I can find a motor rather inexpensive so I can get a used header and intake to put on the new motor so I can still have some power, so eventually the turbo will be for sale so hopefully I can use that to recoup some of my money.

Try WWW.foreignengines.com in Lynnwood. They are in a complex behind Acura if Lynnwood and specialized in imported low-mileage motors etc.

thanks i will give them a call.
so far i found one with only 43k miles for $400 in Lynnwood. That is the best deal I found so far, but what I am torn on is to i spend $400 on this motor that only has a 90 day warranty or do I spend around a grand & get one that has a 1 year warranty?
