Default I Wanna Big Ball

I wanna big ball knobby thing on my stick.

Big ****

Don't laugh, as you probably are. I like it and dang it, Doug said to me that it only matters if I like it and nobody else so don't make fun of it if you see it on my car.

But I do have a few questions...

Do you think this will work for the xB and I'll need some sort of part to go between the boot and the **** as there will be a gap, right? What is that part called... a spacer or something? I'm just a little worried that this won't work and I'd be out a few bucks.

BTW, I had bought a shift **** for the BSP before we got the TCM. We took the **** off the BSP when we got the other xB and low and behold, the stick and thread part was a completely different size! You all probably know that already though. I just thought it was odd... yet another difference between our one 2006 and our other 2006.

So, is the **** really goofy or what?

How about the answer being right there in the auction description... duh. I'll use not having slept yet as an excuse.

SCION NOTE: MonsterKnobs™ Scion shift ***** have the correct thread size for Scion, but the factory Scion shift boot is TOO SHORT to reach the bottom of the MonsterKnobs™ shift ****. Please do not order for your Scion unless this is okay with you. The hardware kit is not used with Scions, as it is not applicable. See photo below for example.
I should delete this thread for reasons of dumbidity.

Jenna, I'm sure that we could make that work if you wanted to do it. We could put black rubber spacers in and I think it would look ok!

Oooh, I could get those at Lowes, couldn't I? I never even thought of that!

I'm going to wait until I've rested a bit and check out the shift **** again before buying it. I'm so deliriously tired at the moment and holding on to my awakeness, just long enough for the older boys to get on the bus. Then, after that, I'm hoping a good run of Sesame Street and sht keep my little one entertained enough for me to catch a nap.

I do desire a new ****... I've had my eye on this one for a while now though. Maybe it's sheer laziness keeping me from purchasing it?

I'm rambling...

Doug didn't even put a smiley or a winky next to his comment. Dude, you were told off!

Sorry about the name calling. Most men would take that name and wear it with pride, lol.

I should edit my post and take out ball. But **** sounds bad too. Stick? I do want this and if I were to take out all those words, it wouldn't make sense, lol.

okay honest post..

Find out if it fits.
take your center console out and invert the chrome sleeve that holds your shift boot up agains the oem ball.
take a hose clamp and clamp it on your shifter about 3 inches below the top, go to your local home improvement place and buy a spring that is about 2 inches long and drop it on top of the hose clamp.
Reinstall your center console and screw you new ball on top.
the spring will hold the shift boot up against the ball snugly and it looks pretty sharp when it's completed.

Singleshot, you have good advice. I read it three times and still don't understand it though. I do, for the most part. The inverting thing has got me though. Do you mean just take the boot off with the metal chrome thing and instead of having it on the bottom of whatever prevents it from going up all the way... no... I'm going to bed. I'll be back later to make sense of what you said.

Sorry, multi-tasking (making breakfast for the wife and trying to type).

Your shifter boot has a plastic chrome peice at the top. You can invert that (turn it upside down). This will allow the entire shift boot to move up higher on the shift itself. Thus taking the gap that will exposed with the new ****.

I will take a pic of mine and post it. pretty simple fix and looks clean.

Oh, okay, I see. Either you dumbed it down enough for me or I'm feeling awfully refreshed, lol.

I guess I would like that look better than a spacer. I would want the boot to end as close to the **** as possible. already it's pretty sticky on the top and not as baggy. Yeah, I would love to see a picture of yours.

What if I just bought a new baggier boot? The only boot I've seen for a Scion have had multi colors and such. I'm not ready to commit to a color them in the interior of my car yet and just want a plain black one. Anybody got a link to boots that for surely fit an xB?

since I have yet to find a photo storage spot to consistantly upload images, I'm stuck putting links down...

First two pics are of the chrome plastic part that I was talking about inverting. For my application, I have the TRD SS, so I had to enlarge the hole slightly due to the TRD shifter having a larger shaft<-- thought that would fit right in with this entire posts gutter theme...lol....

here is the link

Oh, I see, that's a good idea! I've still have it stuck in my head that I'd like a baggy boot on my deal now though. Maybe I'll buy the **** and do what you did in the mean time, until I can get the different boot?

Now, I'm almost positive my husband's earlier 2006 has a thinner threaded stick than my later 2006. I was just about to buy the auction until I remembered that might affect the one in auction from fitting mine. I need to go verify this all when my husband gets home. I don't think I was smoking crack at the time I discovered this... ;)
