Keyblade Modification
Hey guys.
I have a custom key I bought on eBay (switchblade). I bought 2 different ones and when I went to get them cut at the dealership, one cut fine and the key was able to be inserted and turned. However the other one, could not. It would insert into the key hole, but couldn't turn. Upon careful inspection, the key that wouldn't turn seemed like it wasn't cut right (compared to the other key). So I went back to the dealership and they tried re-cutting it without luck. From the naked eye, I can tell that part of the side of the key needs to be trimmed off or filed down and that's why the key won't turn.
So my question is, is there any place that you guys know that will modify keys or trim the keyblade? I went to several different locksmiths and they said they can't or wont' do it due to the risk of the key not working anymore. I told them the key doesn't work already so if they mess it up, I wouldn't care. I think the key needs to be filed down on the side a little.

go to harbor frieght and buy a cheap rotary tool. looks like a dremel but 20 dollars.
take the good key and put it on top of a piece of paper. that use a pen to scribe an outline. take the bad key and than compare it. grind away the metal that isn't supposed to be there a little bit by bit using the rotary tool until the key turns freely.
there are some guys who are so good they can make working key blanks by cutting them with a set of metal punches. while in the drivers seat of the car they are working on.
if all else fails improvise.
