Default for the love of cars...

ok im sure everyone here has had a rad pos or two they hated to part with.

this will also explain why my car is so weird i guess.

here's a few of mine...... lolz

first the old 93 escort

okay now for something a little more crippled.

a bit more

popping tack welds and making the best of a cheap used car. and ghetto
ingenuity.

donor parts galore!!!!

after all the work. somehow lost pics of the rest of the build?

and for the front

i had to get rid of it because of its 80'S V6 gas mileage sold it to a kid for 1500 3 times what i got it for. to get the down payment for my tc.

i almost cried when i sold it i loved that car......and the escort up top was in two wrecks and those pics were after the fact. i repaired it both times. once when my ex wrecked it..... and the other time when i got t bones on 19th avenue in everett.

Your not alone Pete, I wish I had a pic of all of the cars ive had, well over 60. at least half were total buckets, mostly old V dubs. Another dozen or so were projects that were never finished.

My favorite beater car was my 1970 Pontiac Tempest GT-37.........think i got a picture of it somewhere.

It had a 65 Buick Skylark 300ci all aluminum block with bored 40over.......balanced and blueprinted and ran a 2 bbl carb for 420poneis at the rear wheels.....

Car was that wonderful pea green color inside and out till I primerd it Black, and I took a 70s Camero Z28 cowl induction and glassed it to the hood and wired the cowl to a button under the gas pedal to open when i hit WOT......

Car has 255 70 14s in the back and 225 60s in the front and air shocks.......

Took out the bench seat and put in seats from a Dodge Demon, they were really nice seats for the time.......

Car pulled 10.42 in the 1/4 and was daily driven, she would pull the front wheel off the ground for about 20 feet........

One 4th of July while doing a smoke show I blew the rear end through the trunk and then lost my job and was never able to get it running again, and finally after 3 years I lost it to a towing company thanks to my aprtment manager being a jerk.........no currant tabs

I have seen her a couple of times over the years, once even got of the bus and skipped work to leave a note to call me as I wanted to buy her back......

Yes she was a girl.......and she hated other girls.....would not start when my sons mom was in the car.....till I rubbed the dash and told her it was ok.....very creepy.......

Some day.......that year they only made 232 of the GT-37s and she was rare........

If I had her today ohhhhh the things I could do,coils, disk brakes,4 link, sparcos, leather, she could be gold......she cold be gold.

sounds rad, like my brothers plymouth fury.

he was tuning it out in the front parking lot, and the slap-shifter slipped into 1st when he was messing with the carb (dont know the specifics)

but it burnt out huge cloud of smoke and slowly crept to the curb. luckily the front independant brakes were engaged(setup to heat his slicks.)

before he could react to the car doing its death dance it made a cloud of smoke like an a-bomb went off, cut a 4 inch deep set of tire grooves into the pavement and than popped when the crankshaft failed because it had no redline governor.

i watched his face tear up when our mom made him tow it, the truck driver threw a chain over the top of the pristine black paintjob and proceded to wrench the chain tight until the glass broke and the top crushed in....

bear in mind this was the 80's.

soo sooo sad

92 Ford Ranger
97 Ford Taurus
92 Honda Civic
93 Ford Ranger
06 Scion tC

A pick up is nice to have but got old fast when everyone wanted you to help them move. Miss the first Ranger never had any troubles with it, but that is probably why I miss it.
