Default Lowering springs (keep this in the nw forum)

OK all my northwesterners! What springs are you guys running and how do they ride? I want a drop on my xa but not too much like 1.7 inch's would be perfect. I just can't decide what springs. Since you guys drive the streets I do and know how the roads are I want your ideas..... So lets hear them!

TRD is good because of the testing they have gone through..... sounds like you might benefit from a set of coil overs though

The lower you go the more your going to bounce especailly if you get just lowering springs, and stay with stock struts. I have H&Rs on my tC and I love them, plus H&R is out of like Bellingham! BUY LOCAL!!!

hum I didn't know h&r was local! I mite have to check them out and see how much they lower it. I'm going to go with a full set up springs, struts, sway bar, strut bars, etc. maybe later on I'll go for a some coil overs....

I found the TRD springs for about $158 shipped. I've had 'em installed for over a year now, and they're great. Big decrease in lean/body roll. The ride is fine - highway driving is slightly stiffer and 100% comfortable. I love the 1" drop, too; I never worry about scraping, and I like that only Scion owners will know that it's lowered. I wish I could have afforded the TRD struts at the same time, 'cause I'm sure the two together would have been awesome.

I hear alot of good things about the trd springs. I'm just not sold on them cuz they aren't low enough for me but if you like them then thats all that counts! Good to hear you are happy with them!

I found a set of Konis on ebay under $600 (for the xA)! Also some adjustable Tokicos for about $650!

PS Becareful where you buy your Tein springs lot of counterfits around right now! Thats what my first set were, but I returned them upon discovering they were ripoffs! Look @ this article first!http://www.tein.com/counterfeit/warning.html

Good Luck!

I have the Tanabe NF210's not too low, but low enough. I also have the koni shocks in back with the monroe struts up front and the ride is sweet.

I have the tein h-techs not a huge drop but enough for me. I will have my koni shocks/struts in next weekend (if they get shipped out in time).

Sorry to break topic but how do you like the koni's? Did you make the dampening stiffer or softer with the springs installed?

I love the koni's, I have it somewhere in the middle. You can make them stiff as hell and the cornering is amazing.

Is there an easy way to gauge the setting so both are the same? I am trying to smooth out the bumps a bit since I put the tein's in.
