When you have your oil changed, the maintenance light needs to be reset. Unfortunately, it isn't reset about 1/2 the time. It is tied to the odometer, so it will turn on every 5000 miles, regardless if the oil has been changed or not.

There are directions in your owner's manual on how to reset the light. It takes about a minute.

I hope that helps...

oh and for a shortcut, so you don't have to go flipping through your owners manual, this is how you reset your maint. required light.

first, push your odometer **** until it is at the odometer "over all" miles. turn your ignition to the off potision. then, with one hand, push and hold the odometer **** and with the other hand turn the ignition back to the on potision and hold it until you see it go "00000000" and then let go. you'll notice it will go "-------" then to " -" which it will blink a few times before going to "00000000", once it has done this, it is fully reset and ready to go.
