Default meet and greet places

Guys and girls please respect the parking lots we meet at.

last night at seattle was the most i have seen security come around. but mostly due to exhaust revs and driving in. but the kicker for this post has to do with the Nissan 240 squeeling the tires as he took off out of the meet. we had kids running around in this event.

please do not smoke the tires at events
please try to keep it somewhat quiet when in doors.
please do not leave trash laying around.

it really does not take much to get kicked out of a location as any meet with street cars or big meeting already have a bad rep. all of us really enjoy having use of meet locations would hate to see them get taken away.

^yeah as those who attended the Southcenter m&g last month can attest you can be asked to leave for nothing, so lets be respectful so we can keep the places we have...

If you don't know how to act at a meet & greet, maybe you shouldn't go.

It's common sense not to leave crap laying around and drive like an idiot at a public event.

Everyone should use their heads and act like your mom is watching you at the meet.

Then you can go home and continue to act like an idiot.

Another thing that needs to be paid attention to is when we caravan in large groups to an event we need to pay close attention to the traffic laws and not act immaturely.......weaving back and forth while in a line like Formula 1 and passing in areas not designated causes a severe life safety issue to every one.........

I do not know about most but unless you want to buy me a new car and pay my medical I prefer that it stop..........and trust me.......personnal experiance here..........I hurt my best friend.......rolled my car........his medical bills were over $150,000......and I was insured for $50,000.......my own insurance company and the hospital took me to court and sued me for the rest.............they won........they took my home.........my car.........my furniture........my clothes.......and all my personal effects and auctioned them off.........to this day I will never again have the money to be able to buy a home again........all because I wanted to show him how fast the car was with the new Demon carbs........and let me tell you it was fast.......

I know some view their actions as just good fun......and most think they are great drivers and nothing bad can happen.........but just one thing needs to go wrong and it can go wrong.........I can tell you many horror stories.........and I do not want to have to ask anyone to leave an event due to behavior.......nor do I want to leave an event due to anothers behavior.......

I know several people have been asked to not attend the meets anymore unless they change their behavior........and I miss them........I am not holier than anyone else, but I think we need to have a safe and law abiding meet at all times.

umm i know people like doug, brian cravin and chris and a few others bring kids to the events. heck i think it is great that they do. i am just concerned that one of these events would lead to a hospital visit due to something going wrong.

after reading a few different forums and events in like cali arizona and other places. our meets in the eyes of security and police can be looked at as a pre street racing events. all it takes is one security person to complain about it to his boss or to the property managers and we get kicked out.

some of you know i was a co founder or a car and truck club down in southern cali. we used to meet at a very nice parking lot. was great for lowered car as the speed bumps were short but very wide. after 4 years of meeting at this place we lost it to one person being a moron. the guy was applying for our club and drove in slowly to the event. then when he got closer to the parking area. smoked both his tires right in front of our group and the head secuirty gaurd that was parked not to far from us. not 10 minutes after this guy parked and was told not to do it again. we got asked to leave and not come back ever unless we were going to said business. now before this we never had one complaint. took me two months of begging the property management to give us another chance. but the made up thier monds and we lost that meet place for good. in turn we lost like half the club as we could not do public meets.

i am not tring to play police or say i don't do any of this stuff ever in mylife. but if you want to show how fast you can go. then maybe we need to do an event at Seattle raceway. i know a lot of people would love to take the cars on the track and mess around. cough brian (with eggplant) cough..

We need to keep in mind not everyone attending these meets hears about them from SL. They are advertised on different forums, with postcards and meetup.com as well as other web sites.

For the most part we have been a small group and this has not been an issue, the best thing we can do is remind people at the events not to be stupid.

The concerns are legitimate and we need to make sure no one gets hurt.

I am not familiar with what happened at south center, but I do know that CoreyAnn contacted security and the marketing departments for U Village and our Tacoma meet and greet locations. She has also contacted south center in the past and they were okay with us meeting there. You could always say we are about to go into the mall, or go buy a drink from the food court. In most cases we have not had any issue.

As was mentioned above if people act stupid we will not have many places to go to hang out.

Security has the right to ask us to leave at any time. Even in Tacoma, there is a cop that chills in the parking lot each time we meet just watching and waiting.

I was at the last south center meet, we had not done anything wrong we met on the second floor of the garage, parked in stalls and were just haning out and taking pics, then we moved to the top floor of the garage, we started to take pics when security came by and told us that we could not take pics on "his" property, we put our cameras away... the only thing i can figure was there were a couple of occasions while we were there that some cars, a couple hondas and a couple mazdas at different times, came ripping through the garage and that security thought they were somehow affiliated with us... since southcenter is close to my house and i would really like for more meets to go down there, and maybe change the meet day so its not only on months that have 5 fridays... i wouldn't mind calling them and asking again if it was cool if we met there and maybe see if they could shed some light on why we were asked to leave... Mo if you have the contact number for them you caould PM it to me and i could work on this for us

I think we need to be more pro-active (as much as we can be anyways) about conduct at these and also coming to/ leaving the venue. If you change the location and the same stuff is happening then obviously its going to be the same thing just elseware...nothing is solved...
