My wifes birthday always falls on the first weekend in June, so that's why i've only been able to go on 2 of them. If it's the 10th, that's cool, and the 17th is actually better for us fathers, we can play that "fathers day card" we only get once a year.....

I say the 10th. I will be in a big car show in Medford on the 17th with my car club. I have never missed this car show with my Scion, so I say the 10th. Why not do it on Saturday the 9th? A Saturday may be better.

do it at a track. not at a state park please. these cruises are for responsible, pleasant drives and get togethers, not reckless driving.

and as for the 10 bucks?

IM SO IN!!!!! didnt even have to ask. that view is worth a thousand dollars

Ok everyone, it will be on the 10th of June. So, mark your calendars, spread the word and make sure to buy a Discover pass by then. Hopefully I can get the regional scion people to join again this year, they really stepped up big last year.

I think the pass is for the state park everyone meets at after coming down the mountain.

Johnston Ridge Observatory is federal, and the entry fee there is federal.
Seaquest Park (BBQ/potluck/picnic) is state, and requires the state pass.

http://discoverpass.wa.gov/

The tenth sounds good, and I WILL be there, barring disaster.

If we did this on the 9th, it would be free at Seaquest, but either way, we will be there.

Following are the 2012 State Parks "free days":
  • Jan 14 through 16 – Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend
  • March 18 and 19 – In honor of Washington State Parks’ 99th birthday on March 19
  • June 9 – National Get Outdoors Day
  • Sept. 29 – National Public Lands Day
  • Nov. 10 through 12 – Veterans Day weekend

I had no idea they had "Free Days" in the schedule, but if it gets moved to Saturday the 9th, we need to make the covered area reservation NOW!

I suspect those eight days are going to be HEAVILY booked very quickly...
