Default My unforeseen circumstances at Scion United

As many of you probably already know what happened to me while in Neveda I will re tell the story so that others who don't know, now know. (Don't worry I will keep it brief)

So..............long story short. I got a tooth ache in between boise and Las Vegas on the drive down there. Didn't think much of it 'cause it wasn't hurting too bad at the time.

Wed I find out that I have a abscessed tooth so I called Dentist here at home and they called local pharmacy in Vegas to get me Antibiotics. I start taking them and everyone tells me it's going to get better. Days go by and I am getting worse. I call the Dentist back here at home and she was like " don't worry, you can't get any worse"

So we check out of our Vegas hotel friday and I seriously contemplated on just driving home that day instead of going to the Scion United event, but everyone kept telling me that I was going to get better since I was on Antibiotics. So off to Scion United we go.

Get there, check in walk around (What a Gogeous resort - too bad I didn't see much of it) eat some dinner go back to hotel to ice my cheek & at that point I tell Kelly it's getting worse. She spent all saturday morning with the concierge looking for dentist offices that were open on a saturday and who could take a new emergency patient.

Long Story short

On sat afternoon at 2pm, they put me under removed my wisdom tooth, did a root canal and removed some of the worst bacteria the dentist had seen in awhile (gross I know).

So on that note:

I owe everything to my lovely fiance Kelly for all the hard work she did and for ruining her vacation 'cause of this. I owe her sister Corey An for searching around to help me get my car back to the NW and I greatly owe Doug (chapascion) and his wife Evette(spelling) for driving 18+ straight hours to get me and Kelly to my grandparents house in Oregon.

I know there are others that that tried to help, but weren't able to for what ever reasons and I really appreciated you for trying. I do also want to thank Scion United personal to help with the situation move along.

So Doug and Evette - if it wasn't for your hard work and hours of boring scenery, I wouldn't be home right now writing this letter. I really really appreciate it!

On a good note, after sleeping 60+ hours since surgery, I am slowly making my way around to being normal again. I still have some weakness and dizyness from the drugs (for some reason), but I am eating again and more coherent.

Again Thank you to anyone and everyone that helped me, this is why I am glad I am part of the Scion community

Glad to hear you are doing better Shawn. I was worried when CA called me Sat. night, I had been asking the girls working the event if all the buses were there because I had seen everyone but you and Kelly, they said everyone was there so I set out looking for you guys, thats when I found out about your situation, again, glad you're doing better.

Shawn and Kelly all we have to say is anytime! Don't worry about thanking the Scion United People as we thanked them over and over again. You know the funny thing is we got all of our cars out in the first wave, but did not end up leaving until 3pm. In the end we are glad you are at home now and all is going well.

Glad to hear your doing better, knew you were getting home ok since I was in the group caravanning back. And, Doug you can tell everyone why we left at 3. Because you were waiting for me to get out of that mess at pickup.

remember to brush and floss everyday! (not that i do)

kinda interesting, 31 years old and now you have your wisdom teeth removed. i had mine taken out in high school. how did your dentist never notice that you needed them pulled until you were in this much pain?

funny, i had all 3 pulled but 1, because it never showed...

didn't hurt at all, my gf took great care of me the day of swapping my guaze and stuff, i was eating solids by nightfall and had no problems through the whole time they healed.

I have 4 wisdom teeth and never had any problems with any of them until this incident, so that's why they never got pulled. Somehow I got some bacteria down in the gums so that's why they removed it - guess i am a little less wise now (not that I was before).

so ya take care of your teeth, you do'nt want to experience what I did (specially on vacation lol)
