Default Need Help With a VRD Foglight Install

Hey guys, I just bought a set of fog lights. I am planning on putting 8000k hids in them. I have the ballasts, H3 harness and everything that came with the VRD fog lights.

My problem is that there are more wires left over than plugs to put them in....

Here is the VRD fog light that has the HID bulb screwed in, you can see that it has 2 small plugs, 1 large plug, and 2 little metal "bars"

These are the 2 little metal "bars"

This is the typical ballast, which has 2 small plugs which connects to the 2 small plugs off of the HID bulb.

So once I connect the 2 small plugs (ballast to bulb) I have 1 large plug and 2 metal bars remaining.

This is my relay/H3 harness, and there are 2 large plugs (do they go into the ballast?), 2 grounds, 1 power supply wire (goes to the battery), and 2 more little metal bars.

My question is what should I do with the 2 little metal bars coming off the bulbs and relay, and what should I do with the 1 large plug coming off the bulb?

I also have another wire, that came with the original set up which I am not sure if I should use since I have the relay. The plug on this wire goes into another "plug" on the car; in the vicinity of your cold air intake filter. There is a group that comes off of it also. On the back of this wire, there are 2 pairs of 2 little metal bars...which I am not sure what the purpose of them is for.

I know that this may be quite confusing, so ask me to reword it if you can't understand it. Thanks in advance for your help!

From the relay harness, there will be a white and black wire with the metal bars. I attached the last picture of your thread to show ya. Stick the white wires bar into the red wire with the female connector and the black wire bar into the white/black wires female connector. You would only need to do it to one side to get everything working. Just tape up the other side as to not get anything into it.

The Wires that are in the grommet with the bulbs are used for those that wish to forgo a wiring harness.

What does the plug @ the end of the blue and black wires (that are w/ the ones that are on the bulb harness) plug into?

The plug at the end of the blue and black wire that runs through the grommet connects to the ballast. While the other end goes into the OEM H3 connection.

good luck. using those wires to relay will not work, because the VRD has its relay to work off the OEM harness.

So I finished the install tonight and took the car out for a spin. The first car that I saw out on the streets flashed me because it was so bright......I don't think fog lights are supposed to shine up huh?

Is there anyway to angle the lights down? I know that my right fog lights is a little dimmer or has less glare than my left; is that contributed because one of the ballasts is less strong or because the light bulb is at a different angle?

aiming them down may be tricky you can carefully bend the clips to hold it at the right angle or perhaps a wedge............and epoxy........that is all the ideas I could think of......

don't think its possible to aim these down because there is only a small little screw to hold the bulb in place. so you should probably get use to the flashing.
