I also think moving the meet to a different day would help, maybe a sat or sun....it wouldnt be the first meet... this is really close to my house but i would still prefer to go out to tacoma...

Friday is tough for me to get to any of the M&G's, a Saturday would be one i could go to regularly.

I think the guys are on to something. I would be more inclined to go to a Saturday or Sunday M&G

yeah i think so too. if it were a choice between tacoma and maple valley i will always choose tacoma.

but if the maple valley meet were on a saturday night i wouldn't mind so much. and might even show up.

The problem with Saturday nights is that that commits someone to stay in town for the M&G which would break up the weekend. Secondly, as a family man, I would like to spend the evening with them and I can't convince them to come as I am the only car nut in the family. My wife thought it was no big deal to scrape the entire side of her 2 month old car against a tube pylon. It just ruined the paint job on the entire passenger side, but it wasn't considered anything to her.

How about we meet on the 5th at the Starbucks and decide where and what day of the month we want to move it to.Do I have any takers?

If I'm up there I'm heading to Tacoma. I recommend just making the drive, it's worth it.

Based on everyone's advise, including those who this M&G was meant for, and how they recommend to avoid the Maple Valley meet and greet startup and choose the Tacoma M&G instead, I am cancelling the Maple Valley M&G.

now now, you don't have to go and do that, i just thought about something, you could always do the m&g on the months that have 5 Fridays... since we don't have a SOLID "5th Friday" meet spot...I'd be MORE than happy to attend this....maybe refresh the thread with a poll to see how many people would like to see this happen....as it turns out i just looked at my calendar and THIS Friday is the 5th Friday this month

The following months also have 5 Fridays for the 2010 M&G season

April
July
October
December

Now I know that's not much, but its a happy medium where we can meet at the location you have set-up and that everyone I'm sure can agree on...much more so than on a weekend day or same day as another meet

i like the idea of a meet and greet in maple valley, it would be a less drive for me

^ no nonmindo has a good idea, to do it on every 5th friday...or at another day such a saturday or sunday would also be great, that way everybody wins!! i dont think you should cancel this idea, cuz i really like the idea the more m&g's the better is my opinion.

Thumbs down

I can't see making an effort to be the "February 29th" of meet and greets.
If you like the idea, you can run with it. I wouldn't be offended if you championed this effort. The location can be a great gathering point to caravan to scenic areas such as Mount Ranier or Snoqualmie falls, etc.

Me, I'm redirecting my efforts towards the Bellevue M&G. From what I have seen on the news, I'm afraid to go to Tacoma after dark. Too many violent crimes for the size of town.
