Hello gang. So if many of you dont know already, us Islanders here on Whidbey Island have our own little Sunday Coffee meet at Deception pass. Well its more of a Sunday Breakfast really. Anyways we also have a monday meet at Applebees here in town for there $5.99 burgers. Well it just so happens that today we were approached by the marketing department of this Applebees and they expressed there gratitude to us for coming in every monday and hanging out and enjoying the food. The idea was suggested to have a car show right here at the Oak Harbor Applebees. Now some of you may have remembered talk about doing a show at the driver-in theater up here on the island, which i'm still pushing for but I guess its taking corporate a little bit to get fully onboard. Anyways I'm thinking it would be great to get everyone up here not only for the show but also the drive-in. Applebees has suggested a few ideas such as doing drawings for gift certificates, best burnt out (Just kidding), a car contest, henn tattoo artists for the kids, etc. Now nothing is set in stone but they are wanting to see what kind of community we can bring to Oak Harbor. We are not the only ones however that would be showing. It was suggested that the mazda, corvette, and old muscle car guys come out as well. Any thoughts ?

Digging the support. Mike I would be happy to help u out on gas since u helped chris out getting his ride towed 100 miles free from Riverdale Raceway. Thank u again. I hope to get more ideas and support if possible. The more the merrier. Applebees thought maybe doing a fundraiser for something, destini suggested doing something for the soldiers overseas, I.e. car packages or donating something they would find useful and is legal to mail....don't think we send a huge amount of weapons without someone raising a red flag lol. Anyways any ideas would be great guys thanks.

Ok so we just had our meeting with the other car clubs and with the marketing peeps at applebees. So the date they are shooting for is AUG 25th. Now I know that leftys rainer cruz is the next day but this is the only date that works for all the groups. As of right now this is how it stands, $5 dollar entry fee which all the money goes to the boys and girls club, and we have a list that I will post shortly of MOST REQUESTED ITEMS FROM SOLDIERS so that we may make care packages to send overseas. It is a military town so we try to support as much as possible. Im not expecting a big turnout as this does conflict with our schedule. So I guess let me know what u think guys.

Depending on date I would be interested. As for te ferry run, as much fun that would be I don't think my car will make it onto & off the ferry since usually the ramps are not friendly

Ok gang here is the registration form for the applebees show. I have spoken with the people in charge and they are getting there butts in gear. Now please remember this is there FIRST show....EVER!!! So please expect things to go as good as they can. They have never done anything like this. Would really like to see as much support as possible but I understand Oak Harbor is quite a drive for most of you guys. So please get these back to me asap. Just take a picture of the signed copy and send to dustin.james@gmail.com and I will get them submitted this week. Parking will be first come first serve to get your pick at where you want to setup. You will notice that there is a $5.00 dollar entry fee that goes to the Boys and Girls Club. Also being that Oak Harbor is a military town I ask you bring a donation of an item that U.S. troops would use overseas, Iraq, Afgan, ETC. Anything helps, including toothpaste Thanks guys hope to get a decent turnout for this. Applebees says they only have about 45 spots with doing every other parking spot but I told them we can alot more than that if we strategically place the vehicles which shouldnt be hard. Any input and suggestions helps folks. Thanks.

Honestly I like first time shows.....it is great to see local intrest in something like this....it brings business,cause we gotta eat and Applebees....well....nummy...

Also if other types of cars were there like hotrods that is even better....most of us came from hotrods and imports are the next gen hotrod....build it drive it enjoy it....cool is cool.....

 

I have a 50cal bullet form Iraq.....dont ask...but they can have it back if they need....
