Going the chalkboard route, I need a change, and I love the look. Got about 4 hours work done today, here's some progress pics.
Took out all the door seals and the plastics that will be in the way.

Pulled the bumper, grill, and headlights.

pulled the rear also.

Recruited my nephew to help sand (he wants to do his B next), and my son jumped in there too.

and, started masking.

Got more done today than expected, also polished off about 10 beers, so figured i'd stop before my attention to detail went to hell. i'm planning on 3-4 days to complete it. hopefully will get the first coat or two on tomorrow, then another Sunday, then re-assemble after work and school on Monday& Tuesday. I'll post pics of my progress as I go along.

Hopefully it turns out alright, i've done a schittload of research on the chalkboard paint, i think i know what I'm doing (fingers crossed). I'm taking my time though, not gonna rush it.

Yeah, saw the pics from the SE meet and the chaulkboard xB's were cool. I've done a cupboard in the kitchen and a coffee table top with it, but never done a car in it, lol. Can't wait to see the finished product.

they are the ones that got me wanting to do it, loved it the first time I saw it. I'd love to see the pics. I'm doing a blue color, but the whole car.
BTW KK, forgot to give them shims to Shawn at the titus-will show, so i'll bring them to you whenever you need them. I did get my first couple sets done though, and a few sets of spacers, 5mm, 10mm, and 15mm.
yep pretty much.........seems the primered look has hit the Import scene, except instead of taking old cars with crappy paint and primering them........w now seem to be taking new cars with crappy paint and primering them.........that is a Toyota Paint joke........lol

I think that's the same blue i'm using, cept it looks darker on the darker base.
Was hoping to get some paint down today, but 8 hours of sanding that I wasn't expecting left me sunburned, blistered, and bloodied. I should be starting the paint in the a.m.

thanks Shawn.
Well, this has been WAAAAAAAAAY more of project than I was planning on, but after a long day, got a full coat on, minus some of the inside areas around the doors. The rear hatch on the inside was a total whorebag to do, as was around the spoiler (shoulda pulled it off!) i'm thinking 3 coats is gonna be the minimum, it's going on pretty thin. The blue is almost the exact color of the masking tape! heres a few pics.

Gotta work tomorrow, but i'm gonna try and get another coat on afterwards.

Looks Good
My advice, black out the front supports, so that it all blends in...
