Please help support me and the AFSP.
Im not one to ask for money for causes but this one hits close to home. I wont get into why it hits close to home other than that I have had thoughts of suicide myself. I would get into the bigger reason that I am doing this but would rather not put it out there publicly. I hope that you all will donate even if it is only a dollar. If you can only donate a dollar then thats is more than I could ask for.

On the night of June 21 -22, 2008, I'll be participating in a very special and powerful event in the fight to prevent suicide. It's the Out of the Darkness Overnight.
I'll walk 20 miles throughout the night with thousands of other people. The net proceeds will support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's programs and mission.
I've agreed to raise a minimum of $1,000 in donations. My personal goal is to raise $1,000. But I need your help. Would you please consider making a fully tax-deductible donation to help me meet my goal? You can donate cash and checks to me or go online and make a donation via my webpage. I will be collecting cash and checks through June 15, 2008.
Every minute a suicide attempt is made. Every 16 minutes a person dies from suicide. Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death and the second leading cause of death among college students. Every year, more than 30,000 people in the United States will die from suicide. That's why I'm doing this. To do something bold about an issue that so few people talk about. I hope that you'll share this incredible journey with me - by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.

Natalie, This is a fantastic cause. I have had 2 close family members take their own lives. I also had the unfortunate experience where I watched a guy attempt suicide when I was a young kid. We never rode our bikes down that street again. I will donate after United is over.
Thanks for the bump.
Sorry if it looks like im not being proactive with this but I dont like to hassle people for money. I feel that if you care for the cause or support me then you will donate and if you dont then thats ok. I would appreciate even a dollar from everyone though. Thatd help alot too. Theres so many people in the NW section on here that I could easily get 100 bucks im sure.

I think it is good where it is, but I would not be adverse AT ALL to someone else (not the original poster and not a SuperMod) mentioning/linking it in a thread in the Off-Topic Cafe or in other regions...
That might even be worth more than a simple donation. :D
