Polishing a great (I have it done to mine) but requires soooo much work. You have to polish it, seriously, once a week at least. If you let it oxidize then you'll never get it back to a mirror finish again.

I'd suggest getting it powdercoated with a bright silver so its still shiny, but you don't have to polish the ever-loving crap outta it. LoL

Yeah, most places can powdercoat just about any color of the rainbow.

 

sweetness silver would be bombbbbb!

 

I polished mine and Cynce is right it is a lot of work to keep up on.......took 4 hours to wet sand it.......2 more hours rubing compound over the next 2 days........then buffing for like another hour..........

But yeah it takes a good 30 minutes a week with a never dull product........and it has to be cleaned to keep the pores of the metal from getting dirty........window cleaner works good for that.............I jsut did my Doc I cover plate a week ago and that took me a good 10 hours to do because it is flat billet and took a lot of cross sanding to get a good flat reflection and then buffing and polishing for hours on end........

All I can say is thank God for beer........all the work took about 12 beers to do and about 18 hours...........

I have just purchased a Red Billet AEM oil cap to give me the cherry on top so to speak.............

but yeah a good powder coat can be done for fairly inexpensive these days.....we have a Bucky Austons here that sends them to their shop to be done

I used to do them in my garage in a spare oven.........it is easy to do and lasts for along long time.......
