Default Rally Navigator Needed

That's right. Team SciFi rides again!

I'm running the NWRC SOP Championship this year in the xA, and also doing a handful of gravel rallies in the GTI. I'm short a co-driver, so if you're interested and meet the specifications below, check out my website and then PM me. There's a check out one week from today, so I'd like to have someone in the seat by then!

Rules:
1. You must be able to commit to the season. One missed Friday Nighter rally will destroy our chances at a championship trophy.
2. You must be able to read, in the car, at 30-50 mph, with a maplight - and not puke all over my floor.
3. You must be able to handle a little pressure without losing your cool.
4. You must be able to ride 3 hours without thinking about a cigarette.
5. You must bathe regularly.

Check out TeamSciFi.com for more info, schedules, etc.

:D

Here's a link to the calendar: http://teamscifi.com/events_2007.html.

The first car out time for Friday Nighters is 7:30, so we generally need to be at the Eastgate (http://www.nwrally.com/eastgate.htm)park and ride about an hour earlier.

Note that No Alibi and Nor'wester are 2-day rallies.

So have you done this before?

Thanks, KK.

Flapdoodle is coming up on April 1st. It's a fun gimmick rally / poker run. It would be cool to get some teams out for that.

They're TSD's. All you need a street legal car and a navigator.

You should come to the Friday Nighter on March 9th, and if you like it, you should join my club (Puget Sound Rally Club). I think the entry fee is $20 for non-club members, and you should bring a clipboard, a pen, a stopwatch, and some kind of maplight for the co-driver.

Hope you can make it.

Yep... should be a lot of fun. It'd be great to have some other Scion folks there.

I don't think I got it.

You still rolling in that Yaris? You're a wild rally man... you should come out to some of the events.

OK, it was brought to my attention that the description of what a rally is on my site doesn't do it justice, so for anyone still trying to figure out what TSD rallies are, here's an analogy:

Imagine someone gives you some vague instructions to a barbecue. If you're late, the good food will be gone. If you're early, they'll surely make you work the damn grill. Word has gotten out about the BBQ, so there will definitely be more people than food.

So you're trying to figure out where to turn (and there are like 30 turns), but you can't slow down to casually look for street signs because you'll be late. You can't go any faster because then it would be even more impossible to find this road you've never heard of... ( SH*T!, turn now... NOW!)

Oh, and there's a cop right behind you.

About half way through, you realize that one of the instructions was a trick to throw you off, and actually sent you the long way around, so now you've got to make up a little time. The cop is finally gone, but you're on this winding little road. You're pushing through 15 mph corners at about 30, still under the speed limit but reminding you that it's almost time for new tires.

You finally make it to the BBQ 2 minutes late, but there are still plenty of burgers being cooked by the guys who got there early. As soon as you get out of your car, people are joking and asking if you fell for that trick too and talking about how many times they passed someone that should have been here by now, but were going the wrong way.

Some people just never made it. Oh well, more burgers for you.

Great analogy!

I wish I could commit to helping you out. But I just cant get up north that frequently.

I love TSD rallying but it is tough on the navigator.
