Default Reasonably priced GPS?

So my GPS died today...the little plug place where you plug in the adapter went inside the friggin unit....of course it was a 1 year warranty and I have had it for about 1.5 years....

So I need a new GPS...kind of necessary in my line of work. Any suggestions?

Garmin Nuvi 200 or 260. If you need text to speech (meaning it tells audibly what street to turn on) get the 260. If you don't mind looking at the top of the GPS screen to see the name of the street to turn on, get the 200. Also, if the retailer offers extended warranty. service plan I recommend getting it since your last one broke after only a year and most places give you 2 or 4 years depending on the price. What kind of GPS did you have before and what do you need it to do for you? Those are just blind recommendations since you didn't provide many details about how you use it or what you want it to do for you.

I had a Magellen Roadmate 2200T. It had the text to speech which I really need....and it warned me before the turn which is great in the dark. Definitely need an extended warranty...Got this one at Costco....

I liked that it saved all my addresses...that's gonna suck to put back in...

I have the Garmin 360, really like it, but its discontinued. From all I've read, Garmin and Tomtom are both great units, search pricegrabber.com to get the best online price.

1. What model GPS did you have before, I might could get you a replacement.
2. You can't use a pair of needle nose pliers to get the piece that's stuck out of the unit?
3. Office Depot just changed their GPS units so the old ones are clearance and the new ones are going on sale to promote them.
4. If you can wait, usually you can find some awesome sales on the day after Thanksgiving, IF YOU ARE BRAVE ENOUGH TO FIGHT THE CROWD.

Bring it to Exposed I'll give it a shot on fixing it if you like. Have some Mad skills with small electronics and some cool tools at work.

My wife got a great deal at Costco website on a Garmin Nuvi 650 - worth a look.

I would go with a garmin Nuvi 250 and above, accurate and a really friendly interface.

I have the Alpine blackbird and it does everything you are looking for, kinda spendy though. But if you upgrade your deck later you can integrate it too.

Well that unit has been discontinued for some time now so I can't help you with a replacement, but good luck in your search.
By the way I work at Office Depot, so I sell GPS Units all day, and if you are looking for a cheap replacement go with the TomTom One, usually goes for $149 when it goes on sale. But I agree with everyone else about getting a Garmin Nuvi, usually about $50 more, but more reliable. And I'm not saying that Magellen's are horrible or anything, but they are just expensive. Which right now, I think we might be running a sale where you get a $50 gas card for free with the purchase of a Magellen though, may be ending today or may have ended last week, I can't remember.
